I know fans can get excited but there is a level of politeness and like you said she more prone to open up when the situation is more calm. And as for this site....well.... almost every first comment on a post is somebody making comments about the person or the post and this site has lost a lot of the helpfulness that was here when I first joined. for the second part, does anyone of the mods read this here right now? aint there anything to make a change? like new rules or more deleting or maybe even just a few open words to everyone. maybe before the era really starts. Zugurusu 11
I can also bet that she is happy to have a good talk with a fan instead of taking pictures. I mean that's one of the downfalls of fame you miss off meaningful interactions

Until artRAVE she was always inviting fans backstage for free. For the JWT, she just couldn't do it and we all know why. She even went down to the audience to read letters and hug monsters during The Cure, but I guess even that is not enough for you.
cjdamien 198
She has repeatedly asked her fans to set the example and stop bullying on social media yet we consistently have failed her - and I have been part of the problem and have to constantly check myself because I am very opinionated and do not like a lot of what is out there in music and entertainment right now. But I stopped posting about it and I honestly do make myself listen to or watch something before I decide whether or not I like it and don't judge it because of who put it out. But back to the topic at hand - the LM fanbase makes these fun theories and analyzes her posts and that's all fun and passes the time but then when nothing comes of it some of us act like we were promised something and didn't get it and then go off. Or even if something was mentioned and it didn't happen, we go off and make comments and get angry without any understanding of the overall (admittedly terrible) process involved in releasing these things that I'm sure Gaga is frustrated about as well. It can only make her more upset to have literally thousands/millions of reminders that something she wanted to create got cancelled for reasons out of her control. And as for autographs and pictures; I get that it's exciting and overwhelming to be in the presence of someone famous and especially someone at her level. But there are people who have met her multiple times that yell and scream and demand her attention as if she owes it to them. Yes, she made her money from fans purchasing tickets and music, but there's not one fan that spend millions of dollars in one chunk so I don't understand this entitled attitude that people have toward celebrities in general. My husband and I were lucky enough to be in her presence at Joanne the restaurant when we were in NYC for the Roseland Ballroom shows. We happened to be there the night that a fan had won dinner with Gaga and her family and I was shaking so much I had to chug my wine. I wanted to go because it was Gaga's family restaurant and because I lived in Italy for two years and wanted to see how "Italian" she was (haha, I'm kidding, I LOVE PASTA) but when I walked in and saw her parents at the table next to us I almost fainted. She walked in with her sister and two of her dancers and had a nice dinner; I texted a friend of mine and may have posted on facebook but we took no pictures and we did not interrupt their meal. I think I made eye contact with her once and she may have judged me for wearing jeans but nursing school made me fat so give a homo a break. My point is, she literally was not able to get up and go to the bathroom at one point because she was hassled by people for autographs and things, and this was with security at another table in a restaurant THAT SHE OWNS. At one point someone walked by holding a camera one their hip (a giant, telephoto lens contraption even) trying to sneak pics) with no shame whatsoever. I wanted nothing more than to be able to say hi, and thank her for her music and what it she has given us but part of me could tell that she was suspicious that everyone there somehow knew she would be there and was only there to get a look or a pic. I was scared to even pic up my phone because I didn't want her to think I was that kind of person. So I feel like if she's "less interactive" - let her be. We're a**holes. I am still waiting for the day that Gaga reveals she has had cameras on us the whole time and shows us what "The Fame" is truly all about.

holy scheisse 22,256
That's not her PR move anymore. It was becoming disingenuous anyway bc that whole artificial "relationship" between a celebrity and their fans (which is an entity/collection of MANY people and therefore not an individual) is grossly exaggerated and makes no sense. She doesn't know us... She doesn't love us like that. She loved the applause, she loves the life her fans gave her, she loves probably things like the rush of feelings that come from being adored on a massive scale and having people interested in your work. Idk... Everybody in the equation grew up. And I don't even miss those days anymore cuz they never felt real to me.
RAMROD 109,493
OldGaga is ded, neverl look back and look for her in present times. StanS and fans during ARTPOP showed their tru colour and made her realize that many of her Little Monsters are not what she think they were. And since then notice how she had to make it clear each time that she only called people as fans for those who will supporting her decisions than tearing her apart. So yah, after all that of shocks and traumatic experience, can you blame her that she acted this way? (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ✧*:・゚ dancin' until i'm dead (*´艸`*) ♡♡♡
thehanyo 4,251
I agree with you. Her connection to her fans is why I stan her and not Beyonce. She's becoming more like Beyonce and it sucks.
JazzGa 14,621
I dunno if you guys remember hearing about this, but this is an example of how Gaga's fans have no respect for her humanity and frighten and disrespect her. When Gaga was on the BTWB tour in Peru (sigh, of course it was the South American monsters), she was renting a house to stay in. In the middle of the night, on Thanksgiving no less, THIRTY FIVE fans broke into her property and BROKE INTO HER GARAGE and stood in there all night singing at the top of their lungs and spamming her doorbell trying to get her to come down. Gaga handled it adorably/gracefully on Twitter, playing it off as if it was so cute and joking about sliding some food under the door for them. It probably took her a while to come to terms with how disturbing it was that these kids have no respect for her privacy or even her human need for a night's sleep. I think that years of justifying/writing off fans committing felonies to get 2 seconds of her attention/pretending it is just cute and not dangerous, probably wore her down over time. In one article, a journalist even encourages Monsters to "try throwing a brick through her window next time hehe lol!" So I don't blame her (or any celeb) 1 bit for trying to send a different message these days, FANS RESPECT ME AND LEAVE ME ALONE WHEN I'M NOT ON THE CLOCK. She deserves that. She deserves a normal human life where people don't disturb her and expect her to excuse crimes committed against her in the name of fake "love" which is actually just obsession. https://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/11/24/lady-gaga-fans-break-into-singers-garage-on-thanksgiving_n_2184893.html My old cat is a tough man, but i cant deny the way he bites my hand and he stabs me, he grabs me by my heart <
Italian 573
Agree with most of the posts in the thread, also many artists have been put in danger/threatened by their fans, or even worse I agree that she should interact with fans in social media (not that she doesn't now), but she should be really careful when interacting with fans in person, especially in the times we live in now

Concertaholic 5,859
Y'all are ridiculous. She still meets with fans on a regular basis, she's not as outgoing with us as she used to be but she still cares enough to take the time to stop and say hello. The last time I got to interact with Gaga was during the JWT when she stopped at a small jazz club in Austin after her show to surprise Brian Newman at his own gig. A group of us fans waited outside when she left. She and Christian quickly hopped in the back of their SUV and I was pretty sure they were just going to take off cause her security was acting all nervous, but guess what they didn't. Gaga rolled down her window and spent a good two to three minutes talking and listening to everyone and taking pictures when she could have easily taken off and quite frankly would have been justified to do so having had a long night performing. I recently ran into Jeffree Star and he was the biggest freaking diva. Pretended to be on his cell phone so he wouldn't have to say hi to his fans. Gaga could easily be like that, but guess what? She isn't.
Arcanum 5,155
Some of you really need to separate the artist from the person. Why would she respond in the first place? It's meaningful for every artist to see that he/she is supported by fans because of his/her artistry. Would it make any difference if she responded with an emoticon? Do you really depend on that kind of acknowledgment? She loves her fans as a group of people who support her artistry, not as each and every individual who wants a piece of her now and then. What she does is completely honest and healthy imo. I Wantth your Love...I Wantth your Love.
Miel 15,009
I don't think her past relationships with fans (collectively) was necessarily an artifice- exaggerated, maybe, but there was definitely a raw authenticity to it. It was incredible, but also the thing that bit back. Some fans have little to no self-control or politeness, and with the conjunction of modern twitter stan culture, it just became toxic. Plus, even if she viewed it different initially, being a celebrity at her degree of popularity must be completely exhausting. She put it perfectly in 5F2, that every day people are taking pictures with her and talking at her and touching her and utilizing her, and when she gets homes? Nothing. 3 points in and ready for more
