Hard decision between the super iconic Warp Synth and the iconic Woodblock, btw AMAZING names for these :ladyhaha:, I love them! But I made my decision! This was fun hearing all the cool sound effects! Do one for Poker Face! <3

Just a little nerdy trainspotting here. That "warp" was popularized in the 1991 rave techno tune "Mentasm" by Joey Beltram and was copied relentlessly.

But the one sounding most like the one in BR is Human Resource "Dominator".

So yeah, voted that for electronic dance history relevance.

Had to turn to Wikipedia. We're both right!

"Hoover sound refers to a particular synthesizer sound in electronic music, commonly used in gabber and hard house. Originally called the "Mentasm" or "Dominator", the name that stuck was the one likening the sound to that of a vacuum cleaner (often referred to via the genericized trademark "hoover" in the UK and Ireland)."

Thanks for telling us where the warp synth originated. It's used in a song from big freedia's new EP and I wondered why the song used the same synth as bad romance. I had no idea how popular it was even before gaga came around. Also I've heard similar synths in witch house music but again, thought it was a newer type of synth, not something with such a big history

My faves are the "hoover synth" and the heavy kick drum. :rockstar:

There can be 99 bottoms in the area but all it takes is 1 top to believe in you.
