theorist 1,161
Another one: So hear me out, I may be new in all of this GGD thing but I've been lurking or the past months and God knows I'm aware of the Insta pics, and God also knows I have a theory about it, and this is it: the new michael jackson residency: This has nothing to do with the dates or strange calendar Gaga follows when posting the pics, but with the content of the pics itself. I think each set is inspired by a fairy tale/classic book and this is why: The first set of photos was posted on August 15: I think this set (and the one who follows it, posted on August 17) was heavily inspired by the Wizard of Oz movie, which was in turn inspired by the book series. The movie was released on August 25, 1939, so the photos were posted near the film's anniversary (this might be a little bit of a reach but keep on reading). The first pic despicts a fusion between the story's side characters: the lion (in Gaga's vagaga), the tin man (as the gloves), and the scarecrow (also in her arms). I think the second pic represents the Wicked Witch and the third pic could be two things: either the Wicked Witch again in some kind of transformation, or another more plausible thing: a nod to the life of Judy Garland during the filming of the movie. If you didn't already know, it is a known fact Judy Garland experienced a more than traumatic experience during the filming of the Wizard and other movies while she was young. Amongst other things, it is said that the studio was concerned about her weight, so they "monitored her eating". She was also deprived from food to keep her from getting "fatter", prompting a physical insecurity that would last until her premature death aged 47. A director that worked with her said that she "was the ugly duckling of the industry". She was "worked extremely hard", and they even gave her pills and drugs if they thought she was behaving badly. This was her adolescence, a point in life which transforms us, and left her with a lifelong trauma. Garland was a victim of the desired appereance and sex appeal of the time, much like Gaga was and still is. She was harassed by members of the industry, something that has come up again thanks to the MeToo movement but that was also lived by Gaga during her early year (and God knows what they might be doing now). You can read more about Judy's story here. Judy Garland also starts in the original A Star is Born movie, wich is something that should also be taken into account. A note to the margin: some monsters are saying each set represents an era and, althought I don't agree with this, I read many don't find any similarities between this set and The Fame, but I do find a similarity, to be honest: the plastic lifestyle. Here Gaga is deformed, represented like a witch, and watched creepily from the bottom, all consequences of what? The fame. Fame deforms you, makes you re-arrange yourself to either protect your true self or ascend up the stairs of influence. The next three photos of the set all expand the theme first introduced by the first three. The screen that seems to show these pictures (which we know its present since we can see a filter) may be a symbol of reality-style life. In the case of fame, nothing you do can be private. Something Judy discovered the hard way. Now, up to the next set: These doesn't make any sense by themselves. HOWEVER, other three pics were posted two days after: All of them belong to the same set, but are very different from their other half. I think this set represent The Little Mermaid, a tale first written by Hans Christian Andersen. Now, nor the Disney movie nor the original tale were released on dates near the release of this set, but a live-action remake was released on August 20 this year, the same day the first three photos were posted (again, take this part with a grain of salt). But there are other things we can see in them that can make a reference to The Little Mermaid, one of them being the octopus, which is a character in the tale that appears in the form of Ursula, the drag-queen-esque villain. I think the first three photos represent the Little Mermaid herself, with the main clue being in the second one: she's covering her breasts while being in some kind of bathtub. I imagine this representing the moments after Ariel becomes human, coming out of the "bathtub" of the ocean with brand new legs and covering her breasts, which are not covered once she becomes human, as we can see in the Disney movie. The other three represent Ursula, the villain, an obvious thing thanks to the octopus that appears in them. Now, the third, incomplete set: I think this set represents Rapunzel, a German fairy tale assembled by the Brothers Grimm. I didn't find any movie nor book that was released near the posting of these photos, which is why I told you to take those things with a grain of salt. Now, the two photos at the sides (the first and third) represent Rapunzel herself, while the second one represents Rapunzel's hair (duh). In both the tale's second edition and the 2010 Disney movie, Rapunzel's hair is cut by either Dame Gothel (the tale) or her love interest (the Disney movie). The cut of her hair represents her final goodbye to the oppresive years she lived under the comand of the witch, Dame Gothel. In the tale, Dame Gothel uses the severed hair to attract the prince and make him believe she's actually Rapunzel. Once she's face to face with him, he leaps from the tower after an argument, falls on some spines, and is left blind. His sight is restored after months of wandering in search of Rapunzel, whose tears restore his views once they're found. In other versions of the tale, Rapunzel's hair grows back when it is touched by the prince upon his arrival. In yet another versions, the hair slips from Dame Gothel's hands and leaver her trapped in the tower. This theme in particular can be used in a bunch of way from a creative standpoint, and we'll have to wait until the next set of photos to find out. So, once that is said, you may be wandering wtf this all is. Dear monster, I may have the answer My far-fetched theory is that she maybe developing an album (or albums) that are composed around the theme of fairy tales and fantastic tales, with a song or EP each inspired by a different story. Don't quote me on this, however. So what do you think? Delusional or straight-up psycothic outbreak-y? Discuss

ARTPOPSTER 4,246
I think this is an interesting theory. I have a feeling the album is about the confusing line between what’s truth and lie and fake and real. Fairy tales would tie in with this theme.
