I actually look at it the other way around, I can't believe that the sample was cleared. The original is so passionate, elegant and beautiful and this is just horrible song that ruins it for me

I do get what you mean, maybe I'm bias since I am a fan of Nicki. If it were another artist I'd probably have the same opinion as you, and honestly on a second listen I realise maybe its not as great as I thought on first listen  I think it's just because I love the melody of Con Te Partirò so much that just hearing it re-used in a new track made me really enjoy it regardless.
