Joanne is good, but gets boring after many listens. ARTPOP is so much good, but it's too busy and it hurts after many listens. I love them both but I'm waiting on an album with a better replay value :selena: I'm sorry and I love you gags.

I voted ARTPOP only because I'm tired of listening to Joanne  :huntyga:

For me, ARTPOP.

The eccentricity, the party vibes, the EDM. I listened to that album during a fun, wild time in my life, and it makes me want to rage and drink and get high and dance every time I listen to it.

It's just more fun, exciting and wild.

I love them both, but Joanne came with a more cohesive sound and vision. One could also argue that ARTPOP is more interesting because it's so inexplicable, and they wouldn't be wrong.

Well...

1. Aura vs Diamond Heart
2. Venus vs A-YO
3. G.U.Y vs Joanne
4. Sexxx Dreams vs John Wayne
5. Jewels 'N Drugs vs Dancin' In Circles
6. Manicure vs Perfect Illusion
7. Do What U Want vs Million Reasons
8. ARTPOP vs Sinner's Prayer
9. Swine vs Come to Mama
10. Donatella vs Hey Girl
11. Fashion! vs Angel Down
12. Mary Jane Holland vs Grigio Girls
13. Dope vs Just Another Day
14. Gypsy vs Angel Down (Work tape)
15. Applause vs Million Reasons (Work tape)

ARTPOP: 9, Joanne: 6

With that being looked at, I appreciate the Joanne era more, because even though it felt slower, at least it was cohesive, Gaga seemed happy all through, it gave us the Super Bowl, 5F2 and the JWT (which I almost attended)

I can't imagine thinking Joanne is the better album. ARTPOP is ambitious, even if it doesn't always work.

That's a hard question.

1) Joanne wasn't a boring album... the era was. Don't try telling me you would skip A-YO or John Wayne. There are no skips on Joanne (which is something ARTPOP can learn from). But if you told me you would skip the era, I would agree.

I get it, it was boring because it had more sentimental value, but I prefer CrazyGa. :vegas:

I don't mind Million Reasons because it was the only song of it's kind on Joanne, like Brown Eyes on The Fame. But Gaga seemed too tame in general. But if we rightfully separate art from artist, Joanne wasn't boring and an amazing album! :music: I think the first half was the better part.

2) ARTPOP was... interesting. It got a bit too experimental at points imo, like Swine for example. It had good vocals and meaning, but cheesy Skrillex sounds.

Also, "My ARTPOP could mean anything" was an annoying line. This album was trying to be art but it didn't have much to say. If it doesn't mean anything, what's the point?

Some people say ARTPOP was too artsy, but I think it wasn't artsy enough. It was more pretentious than artsy.

That aside, ARTPOP is an undoubtably enjoyable album. Don't drag me, I love it. I'm not trying to hate on ARTPOP but those things I said can't really be avoided in this kind of debate.

The album had big impact :vegas:, it was fun, and sounded great for the most part. My favourite song on it is A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E.

3) Joanne was a meaningful and amazing album, but fell flat a bit on the Gaga we know and love in it's era. That said, it was a great commemoration of her aunt Joanne.

ARTPOP was very enjoyable and interesting. I appreciate Gaga being experimental, but it had some skips and could have been improved in many ways.

ARTPOP is better in all aspects. I still play ARTPOP all the time, Joanne not so much.

there's definitly ambition in creating a folk/country pop album in a culture where hip hop and rap is dominating

ARTPOP without J&D, Fashion! And Donatella would be amazing.

I think id rather had less tracks on it than those three added

Joanne is more consistent in terms of quality. Even the songs that are not my favorite are listenable.

While ARTPOP was ambitious, parts of the album are downright awful. Moreover, the production is very messy all throughout the album. That being said, the album has some gems.

I voted for Joanne.
