this is the very first time that a Korean celebrity has been chosen to model for Chanel rather than act as a brand ambassador.

Seeee this is what I'm talking about its directed to look like nothing is there but still giving men the confidence and comfortability to wear makeup. it doesnt have anything to do with gender norms and and **** its just giving men a simple way to make themselves look better

I agree with everything you said, and I could be wrong, but I think there are simply biological differences between male and female skin. So, if you set aside nonsense gender norms, it makes sense for there to be different makeup lines for men and women, in the same way there are different lines of skincare products for men and women.

I think this is a good thing  We don’t live in a world where men wearing makeup is seen as normal unfortunately, because we don’t I think something like this is a small step in the right direction because it’s making a point that men can wear makeup. Maybe eventually they’ll be able to merge lines and just have makeup overall, not makeup for women and makeup for men, but it has to start somewhere. Shifting instantly to “makeup for all” would be too drastic and not end up as successful as a slower approach in my opinion

And I still go to CVS seeing zero representation for straight men to wear makeup. I'm not affected cuz I'm as gay as a unicorn at a Britney concert, but the reality isn't the same for straight males (I used to feel the same way maybe 3 years ago? But things changed for us).

The stigma won't go away till it's normalized. Big brands like Chanel could push that.

No. Makeup is not exclusively dependent on sex. When male actors are given makeup for films or television, makeup artists don't use makeup whose chemicals suit only men. And many gay men have a differnt kind of makeup than straight men who are less comfortable with the idea of men doing makeup. So basically Channl's new initiative is aimed at cisgender men - an idea which I find ridiculous. It's like selling masculine pink socks to men who think pink socks are feminine.

u guys can be so ignorant its fkn crazy. u have to get out of ur little bubble and open ur eyes. The open minded society u live in that accepts men wearing makeup is a minority. There's still a shitload of work to do. And it really is amazing that a brand that is so internationally famous and respected by so many people is starting a men makeup line. its a bigger statement than a commercial with men wearing makeup or an announcement that makeup is genderfluid like .... nobody would care. but this tho... this is big.
