I think she would never release it on VMA, because of the history between Gaga and this s#itshow. She'd ignore it, like she did with PI. I would love that btw.

BTW Who blocked first version of applause show? Interscope or VMA?

idk I think they would post a lot of her videos to keep everybody thinking she might show up there. And if Gaga did like Jessie J I think it wouldn't seem so nice.

i think so

If I remember correctly, the original performance was blocked by MTV for some reason. I still get angry to this day thinking about it.

Idk but going from Joanne (WDYTYG) to a song called Inferno is a total mess :huntyga:

Not messier than going from GUY (Girl Under You) (An ARTPOP Film) to Perfect Illusion:laughga:

She only attended MTV Movie Awards because her documentary was nominated. Meanwhile, the VMA is completely ignoring her music videos year after year.

You just cannot ignore that it said Britney would record something in June too but that never happened

Who knows? Maybe she did.

However, big-budget and Lawrence in 2018... :huntyga: Too good to be true to me :huntyga:

Her initial idea for the VMAs was a trainwreck though. They did her a favor.

Honestly even I have a bit of trouble, but the jizzt of it was basically she was going to have a bunch of drag queens dressed in her iconic outfits scattered about the red carpet to confuse people I think and then join her on stage (not to be that guy but madonna literally used drag queens dressed as herself for a vma performance in 1998/9?) so to me I think we dodged a bullet. if im wrong than someone please correct and give us the full rundown of the original idea.

Wait I’m confused. I thought this was the original concept?  https://m.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.232983840217339.1073741841.201778520004538&type=3 I’m VERY glad they cut this and it’s no wonder why.  This is WAY too dark and grotesque for the VMA audience and the public in general.   This was around the time that Gaga was heavily working with Marina Abramovic (who imo is a TERRIBLE influence and was probably part of the reason Gaga went to so many dark places emotionally during the ARTPOP era).  Marina is infamous for her “spirit cooking” dinners and performance art depicting the consuming of human “flesh”.  You can see her influence in the origins of ARTPOP in instances like this performance where “Saturn devouring the son” is a main part of it, which is an ancient depiction of a “god” (demon) who was known to eat children.  Bs or not, this association with both child sacrifice and Marina would have been DETRIMENTAL to gaga’s Career as she was already at a career low point with the R Kelly backlash, and it wouldn’t have been long after this that the whole Pizzagate scandals and conspiracy’s started, and would have instantly associated Gaga with “pizzagate” and being a Lucefarian and a child killing conpiracy theory.  Sure most people don’t buy into it all, but I really think going this very dark spiritually/historically influenced route would have made her into something more like an outcasted Marilyn Manson type, and potentially we would have never had the GP seeing her in a positive light like they do now after million reasons and the Super Bowl.

I actually really dig this concept lol not even lying, was never aware of this but I think it would have been far more dynamic than what we got which to me was a really diluted retrospective of her career and quite honestly made her seem a lot older than she is because why would she be doing a retrospective of her career only 3 albums in? like i really disliked her vma performance that year. i get that this is dark but its at least more my taste. i prefer gaga doing pop meets marilyn manson tbh

that being said it probably wouldve been controversial
