With credit cards, the banks just cancel those transactions and take liability for fraud and no money leaves your actual account.

Debit cards is whole other thing as it took money out direct from your own savings so you don't pay anything. 

 

While credit cards you can use up to certain limit, depending on your type of card (regular, silver, gold, black/platinum) and you will have to pay it by the end of month. There will be bills for using one. And I honestly don't believe EU do 't use this at all since it is a pretty common stiffs, usually a saver too when money is tight and one needed to get something quick.

I been wondering this too, I ordered mine and the money came off my credit card but then 2 or 3 days later it came back on my card and it's not even showing up now - so I'm guessing when it ships?

We only have one type of cards in EU, we don't have your kind of credit cards

Makes me realize why US is deep in debt. You cant even buy a car with a loan if you dont have a good credit score (from using credit cards). So owning credit cards is a must at least if you need a credit score and buy a house or car.
