Jack's role is rumoured to be "hugely effete, very camp and very funny" and some people have argued that having a straight man act like this is "perpetuating stereotypes".

oh hell no, if this is how Disney's gonna do gay they can stay away

Good thing they did. Regular men work so hard and the gays want more. Yeah, equality.:lana:

I try to be nice and nonjudgmental buuuut what in the actual f*ck is the matter with you. This post is condescending towards an entire group of people, and reeks of hypocrisy coming from you of all people. Like in the span of one hour you went from accusing Nicki Minaj of being homophobic for using the word "sissy" in another thread, and then turned around and insulted the entire LGBT community. I'm pretty disgusted with your opinions a lot of the time, and I think you have so much learning to do about the world and about people who aren't like you. Commit today to being a much better version of yourself.

I am disgusted with people being angry at this. The point of being an actor is to pretend to be someone you're not.

Matt Bomer came out in 2012 which is 3 years after white collar started. And as for AHS, it’s a Ryan Murphy show.

Does it matter? AHS is a popular show and he has played straight characters... Matt could have easily been cast in AHS as a gay man.

sis it being a ryan murphy show has nothing to do with this. admit ur wrong and everything will be okay! openly gay actors played straight characters, whether they came out during, before, or after the show's release/air. they still did it!

LITERALLY DOESN'T MATTER! He was still openly gay after the other 10 years of the show's airing.

But he still was openly gay for the majority of it. He could have easily been kicked off - but wasnt :vegas:

He was still cast before coming out. So he can’t be used as an example.

Plenty of Gay men play straight men in movies...should we also critizies them? My gosh. noone cares. There is no problem in this. They prob supp gay rights otherwhise there would be no gay character. etc

People should look at the bigger picture. Can we move on and do something against homophobia?Instead of forcing problems?

At least we get a gay character. Gays plays straights a lot too-they’re not struggling for work until trans people, bc all you need in Hollywood is looks.

 It’s nothing new.

twitter was also crying about ruby rose, whose lgbt, not being the right 'lesbian' to play batgirl, so what's ya'll's point

there are a lot of lesbians who hate ruby rose, and I don't care to find out why, but these are so obviously separate issues.

Do you really think the creators didn’t know he was gay? Just because you come out to the world doesn’t mean you haven’t come out to others

Ryan Murphy is one of the lgbt friendly in Hollywood so yes it has something to do with it. The first one to create a show around trans characters played by trans characters.

What thing these days does not get backlash?

ezgif-5-051bed6d04.gif

Even Gaga got backlash for not putting  "F*** TRUMP" in lights in the sky at the SB

That's. Not. How. Discrimination. Works.

And don't say no one cares, stop silencing people who take issue with things you're too comfortable to have to care about. Bad look.
