Suspiria 10,683
Definitely her most creative, cohesive and powerful piece of work. TF/M maybe had bigger selling singles, but BTW had by far the biggest cultural impact of all her albums, and that's down to the quality of her songwriting which was at its peak during BTW. So many great ideas, all held together by a very clear theme of empowerment and strength/overcoming struggles. TFM's concept wasn't exactly clear in the songs, and we can all agree that ARTPOP's definitely wasn't. The instrumentation on BTW was varied and intersting, with each song having its own flavour, and yet they all were clearly from the same album. It's far more personal than Joanne too, I hate that just because Joanne has a "stripped back" aesthetic people think it's more personal and meaningful. BTW was way more clearly autobiographical and could only have been written by her, and touched on way more important and relatable subjects than the death of an aunt she never even met... The one single flaw with this album (apart from the filler, it definitely didn't need every song) is the mixing, and it annoys me so much because everything else about it was so incredible. KatieJudasGaga4 67,907
For me its... 1. Born This Way- I really enjoy this album, like I love all these songs, like seriously....ughhh (Plus Judas is in the album ) 2. Joanne- Again I love all the songs, but Hey Girl ruins it for me, so that is why Joanne is 2nd lol. 3. ARTPOP- I love all the songs, but ARTPOP (song) bores me sometimes, Dope is better live and Jewels & Drugs is my least favorite song from her. 4. The Fame Monster- I love all the songs, but Speechless is so much better live. Also, its at 4th because its an EP and has less songs so less to offer. 5. The Fame- I love The Fame singles so much and has a lot of my favorite tracks, but honestly, some songs are dated and there are a lot of fillers. Miel 15,009
As an album and an era, I see BTW as an incredible, beautiful mess. Still her best, though. 3 points in and ready for more
Guest
Honestly Born This Way was the most cohesive album she put out & my fav album of hers. The imagery, lyrics, melodies, fashion, production & message all fit seemlessly together & the tour & music videos that followed really brought the album to life. Not to mention, even though it was an era of hardcore imagery & sledgehammer beats she still managed to make it feel light. She was able to blend the darkness with love & it will forever be my fav. Also just the music alone is ****ing amazing, it was unlike anything in pop. The lyrics were intelligent & the melodies were dark yet inspiring & nothing sounded generic. It was truly a vision of her own. I own this album on vinyl & CD because I love it so much. Born This Way LITERALLY changed my life for the better & saved me in so many ways. A Hybrid 11,049
Okay, you give reasons why it should be Gaga’s best album in theory. But it isn’t in reality because of some generic fillers, uninspired songs, too much repeat and disturbingly overused autotune. No family’s safe when I sashay
Killa 17,490
I also think she was truly inspired and there are some best ideas. But.. yes but its a bloody mess. That sometimes adds charm and becomes the essence, at others is simpklly bad sign. It wouldnt hurt to have one more year in the making. But it had to be like that, the album appeared in through the eufory of it all. Its very pure, very that moment and unforfettable

Peace 1,588
BTW album's instrumentals are way more noisy, harsh, overlayed and hard to digest. BTW can be her fans fav album but TFM is world widely considered her best work to date.
Ziggy 11,870
I think TFM and TF had better, tighter songwriting overall, but I agree with you otherwise. I think hse had the most creative leeway with this album, but it's relative underperformance in singles made her have to give up a little more with ARTPOP. Sad. But I love this album and I think it has some of her biggest highs. It's just not consistent *overall* like I think TF and TFM are in terms of songwriting. Any song from those albums could have been plucked to be a hit of some size.

This album worked as a whole. Its hard separate the imagery from the music And also her true personality came through. Though the fame monster was really supposed to be synthetic thats also bs to say im still young and undefined. This is a sophomore album with the gaga descovering the artist she really crafted to be. Also yes the balance betwen dark themes and sounds with the themes of joy acceptance freedom and ymthe pure joy expressed in the lyrism of some of her melodies is quite unheard of. She was genuinely inspired

Its funny the songs more new york kind of billy joel style dont work that well. The more beatles inspired feel kinda vague. Truly ugh ha mind
