Enigma is Gaga's new alter ego. Why? We all know that DJWS said that her next album will be ARTPOP's little sister. Not only that, but the poster screams ARTPOP. A side from the obvious, there's something that I never understood and thought it was "another cryptic lyric that only Gaga knows". It bothered my why the ARTPOP album opened with the lyrics "Enigma popstar is fun, she wear burqa for fashion". In my mind I thought that enigma popstar meant that it was fun to do what she wanted without repercussion because she was just a popstar. But now I've changed my mind... Enigma popstar is Gaga herself, no one knows who Gaga is. We know Joanne, but Enigma is her counter part, Enigma is the weirdness, the outrageous, the nonsense. She is the enigma of pop culture. I'm not saying her album is called enigma, I'm just saying that we will see Enigma in her new album. ARTPOP was the explanation toย the projection of the "artist as a canvas" philiosophy, which what Gaga followedย before even she started her career. ARTPOP didn't start a brand new way of thinking on her behalf, it was already there;ย evertransforming constantly for the desire of self-expression. With 'Enigma' although the materials are limited all I can tell is it's more about her as an artist. Let me put it this way. What I got is, ARTPOP was about putting together references for a self-expression in art and fashion, pointing towards "the references" Enigma might be more focused on what those references have in common, the artist herself andย what makes Gaga, "the Gaga".
