I found a few albums by female pop stars that are more critically acclaimed than any Gaga's album according to 14 critics. I wonder, do you agree with critics that these albums are better than anything she has come out with?

Beyonce (Lemonade) - 92

Lorde (Melodrama) - 91

Beyonce (self-titled) - 85

Kesha (Rainbow) - 81

Ariana Grande (Yours Truly) - 81

Madonna (Confessions On A Dance Floor) - 80

Madonna (Music) - 80

Nelly Furtado (Whoa, Nelly) - 79

Gaga's albums:

The Fame Monster - 78

The Fame - 71

Born This Way - 71

Joanne - 67

ARTPOP - 61

You know this is just my opinion, right?

From that last, I disagree with Yours truly and Rainbow. Lemonade doesn't deserve 92 but I'd still rank it like 83 so it would still be higher than LG

This doesn't surprise me, these artists are mostly doing what their fans want them to do and not what they themselves want. The reason Gaga came up with Joanne and not just some other pop album, is because she wanted to do it from the heart, to pour out her inner Joanne onto heart filled music that she loves and doesn't care what other people think, she loves Joanne whether others do or not :)

Never heard the Nelly Furtado one. I'd probably say tfm should be higher but that these other albums had appropriate scores. Esp melodrama & lemonade.

Not completely disagreeing with you, but Rainbow was a huge step away from anything Kesha ever did prior.

Joanne is such an amazing album to me, I really don't understand why people don't like it

I enjoy most of the albums in that list, and I love some of them, so I mostly agree with those scores. I just think Gaga's albums should have higher scores, at least 75-80 to me, and personally I'd give a 90+ score to a couple of her albums.

Congrats to these ladies :applause:

I always thought music is too subjective for it to be judged by a small group of people. I don't think their scores should be representative on the quality of the music itself. Sure it gives some validity by music experts but I think the merit of the  music should be based on cultural impact instead  Not to mention that there may be some biased opinions among some critics.

I agree. I wonder if Rainbow got the score it did simply because of that or because it was actually that great of an album.. I thought the album was good. Idk if I would've given it 81 tho..

It's personally one of my favorite albums ever. It's well produced and while many tracks are preaching repetitive messages, the songs are sound wise, hella diverse. I don't know if I question the 81 for Rainbow generally, but it can be questionable comparing it to other great albums that have lower scores.
