but can you guys really imagine she is going in all those ASIB interviews without any music/vegas related things to say?

she should at least have an title and date for the album to mention it.

If she does release new music this year, it will take the attention away from the movie and the soundtrack.

Even if she has completed all the promotion that is scheduled for A Star Is Born, it does not mean it's wise to release the new album this year. They probably want all the focus and attention to be placed on the soundtrack and movie so that they will be constantly talked about and brought up by every journalist and critic until the Academy Awards. The reason why this is important is because they want to keep the buzz alive until the awards season ends.

Just imagine - what happens if you release a highly anticipated single from your new album?

It will undoubtedly garner attention, and thus people will talk about the lead single and the anticipation of the new album, and thus talk less about the movie and soundtrack. It would be like creating your own competition to steal the throne of the other.

A very relevant example is how Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story and Feud have taken the spotlight from American Horror Story. Or how Taylor Swift's Blank Space dethroned Shake it Off. There will be winners, but there will also be losers.

So why not wait until the awards season has ended before she commences a new era?

Shake It Off did better in time, it's a bad exemple in music. I don't agree either way. ASIB is a Bradley movie, and the songs are totally different from LG6. There's no reason that the release of LG6 would "overshadow" ASIB or vice versa. It's not the same public. ASIB would bring some more attention to Gaga give make her look more successful for LG6, and people who only look for ASIB wouldn't even care/know that LG6 is here

I still think it's better for Gaga to push one project to the maximum potential before she begins another one.

Nicki Minaj released Chun-Li and Barbie Tingz as concurrent singles as an experiment and Barbie Tingz is overshadowed by Chun-Li. Shawn Mendes did the same with In My Blood and Lost in Japan and the former was the only one which succeeded.

Why not?

Actors talk about their movies all the time it's not like they have a problem doing those interviews.

None of the two Nicki songs are real hits, this is a though era for her. But I get what you say.

Interscope directs both ASIB and LG6 (better than Born This Way, ARTPOP and Joanne I hope...) so I guess they know what to do :)

What it comes down to is her management team ensuring that she is not either:

1. Overexposed between ASIB and LG6

or

2. LG6 doesn’t suffer if ASIB brings bad press

but

they could have great success with the movie that catapults the album into a hit. I’m sure that’s what they are betting on

Multiple people she’s working with on LG6 said that new material is coming this year.

Any receipts?

Mark Nilan (if that’s his name) is closely tide to this record and he answered few fans who asked when it’s coming and if it’s LG6 related in the instagram comments.  He answered to both. He said it is coming this year and yes it is her new dance record.
