REALITY 76,270
I sort of don't know what to think about this... On one hand, out of respect for the family, I completely understand why Gaga felt the need to retract her statements, and I respect her for it. That being said, it's not like she witnessed him do it or anything. I imagine that her sources were the same as everyone else's. Every other media company says that the cause of death was suicide, so why only make Gaga retract her statement? 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎
KleinGa 18,177
1 hour ago, Bloody hooker said: After she found out that Rick died, she expressed her sadness about what happened. She also tweeted about how the world shouldn’t ignore people who have these thoughts and feelings, and we should help them. I believe his family didn’t like the fact that she tweeted all of that, and don’t like her at all. This is the most classic case of jumping to conclusions she deleted her old tweets because they suggested he committed suicide when it is now being discovered thay it might not have been suicide at all There is nothing to suggest the family hates her

She said out of respect for them not “they made me do this”. Im sure she spoke to them probably to express her sympathies and they explained that they dont believe its suicide and she made a decision on her own to retract her statements. Nicola Formachetti did the same thing.

Chris Evans 8,917
the OFFICIAL story is that it's a suicide- his family isn't 100% sure about that so Gaga clarified out of respect for them there's no reason to believe that his family reached out to anyone aside from whoever is representing them responding to questions from the media

I mean we should not claim anything but the whole "he was not the type to commit suicide"/ "he had plans" is very worrying. One of my personal friends was about to graduate from college and seemed very happy but he comitted suicide . No one really knows what's going on someone else's head. I'm so sorry for your lost. truthteller 1,807
you all have 3 pages of discussions over a tweet that's for clarification and respect for his family? it's not that complicated. the authorities and media said it was suicide at the first place, she reacted and tweeted his family believed it's accidental afterwards, and she further clarified out of respect

Pop Music 20,540
I think it was very admirable for her apology. She always wants to be informed before she makes public statements which is great. Still I personally don't think she jumped the gun with her tweets. Pop Music and Lady Gaga forever!

Gaga knew him really well and she obviously felt emotional and is grieving right now. She has the same sources as everyone else. She wanted to express her sadness and highlight the importance of talking about mental health and how we can be doing so much better to prevent suicides... of course the media and Gaga may have thought that it may have been premeditated which it's not confirmed. She wanted to highlight an issue and deal with her emotions too. She didn't do it out of disrespect. OT: She's so humble and appreciative of his family's wishes. This is why I love her so much End Racism Now
Guest
She's apologizing because after his death she originally posted to Twitter: "The suicide of friend Rick Genest, Zombie Boy is beyond devastating. We have to work harder to change the culture, bring Mental Health to the forefront and erase the stigma that we can't talk about it. If you are suffering, call a friend or family today. We must save each other.... (and then posted in another tweet) ....Science tells us that it takes 21 days to form a habit, if you are suffering from Mental Health issue I beckon for today to be your first day or a continuation of the work you've been doing. Reach out if you're in pain, and if you know someone who is, reach out to them too." And then she posted another time after that about the Born This Way foundation. Rick's family allegedly believes it was not a suicide so out of respect for his family's beliefs, Lady Gaga redacted her previous tweets and then tweeted apologies and condolences.
