Why won't Gaga work with Ryan Tedder despite his interest?

I used to love his work with OneRepublic and I still think he's a solid musician, but I think his songwriting has become very Top 40 oriented. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I don't think it's what Gaga wants and I'm not sure what else he could bring to the table.

He's kind of like a younger, less iconic Diane Warren in that he seems mostly known for sappy pseudo ballads.

omg I live :wtfga:

Everyone forgotten the whole Halo/Already Gone debacle?

Also, what song has he written in the last 3 years that was a hit? :oprah: What song has he produced in the last 3 years that was a hit? :oprah:

You all want "legacy" and "success," but at the end of the day, that is gonna come from Gaga making the music SHE wants with the sound SHE wants.

you could easily replace his name with max martin or sia.

they are hitmashines as well and she could easily work with them if she wanted too.

Why do I have a feeling LG6 will be like Gwen Stefani’s “This is What the Truth Feels Like” (in terms of public reception)?

Eh, Gwen took long breaks in between her solo albums. No one really cared by that point. Plus, the lead single wasnt really that good, new or fresh.

His forte is songwritting.

She knows how to do that

He wont give her a new sound and mark nillan is a good musician thatll help her focus her musical ideas

Believe her.

Also shes been with semi precious guy....is that not enough. God...

Justin Tranter lol see, the benefit there is that he’s not only a great songwriter but they also are friends and have chemistry. If anything she has more “trendy” people this time around than ever. They’re just trendy in various genres and not just pop (like Sophie, for example).

Big difference.

I'm not a fan of Max Martin. His stuff is usually generic. I would love for her to work with Sia though.

Sia and Ryan Tedder are proven excellent songwriters (you can even find their demos online so you know they're the real songwriters and contributed the most) Their lyrics are on another level, whereas Max Martin lyrics are so simplistic.

I feel like Gaga is a pretty isolated person and so when she’s starting to maleness new music she reaches out to people she knows and asks them for names and then explores those “new” artists to her. It’s not so much that she doesn’t want to work with him, I bet, but more that he’s never quite fit the angle she’s gone for so no one has suggested him to her. When she picks someone new they usually fit *perfectly* (i.e. Rick Rubin on Dope, DJWS on BTW the album, Madeon on Gypsy, FJM on Sinner’s Prayer, and Zedd for G.U.Y.). She’s got a particular vision and he’s kind of a catch-all so I could see why she hasn’t thought to approach him yet

Gaga seems to have a pretty generalistic negative opinion on "star producers". In 2011, she told Billboard they are ruining the music industry by dictating the sound to artists*. While this may be true for some of them like Dr.Luke etc... It's really unwise to put all people in the same basket. There are some famous producers that are very good, artistic and cooperative like Greg Kurstin and Ryan Tedder.

Maybe because Gaga has heard his work and while she's liked it she doesn't want to work with him.

If she doesn't want to work with him just be happy with what you're going to get.

You can't control humans so anything you want regarding musicians is most likely never going to come true.

If you let go of wanting things that will never happen you'd be way happier with Gaga's work and your own life.

I want things from Gaga but it wouldn't affect my view of her if she never did these things.

You make it sound like he asks her everyday and she keeps refusing lol.

I love his work, you obviously do too. Maybe she doesn't? Music is subjective.

I would like her to work with him because I'd love for her to have a timeless hit pop ballad.

While we're on the subject, why did "XO" not blow up? That song is kind of amazing.

Was released at the exact same time with Drunk In Love. Drunk In Love was liked more by radios, so they sort of ignored the other one lol
