Is it "lame" to like Lady Gaga?

Back in 2010, it was hip and trendy to tell people you liked Lady Gaga. Does this still apply in 2018?

Have you had recent experiences where people looked at you twice for liking Lady Gaga? If so, were you ashamed? In comparison to an artist like Beyoncé, is it "lame" to like Lady Gaga? :green:

Comparing to MANY other artists I think you are much more respected when you like Gaga... Sure I would not call it hip, but not lame.

I personally got just respect from other saying, that’s cool that I love her and that they think she is a nice person. But definitely not lame

I think it was definitely cool to like her when she was at her peak.

Post-BTW, unfortunately, she kinda became a "gay" artist and I think a lot of people shied away from outwardly liking her because of the stigma that came with liking her. It's awful that that happened, and ARTPOP then made it cool to outwardly dislike her.

Since then, however, I think she's attained a weird status where she really is kinda indie. In the same way that a lot of people take pride in liking their favorite indie bands, I think a lot of people recognize that Gaga is a legitimately quality artist who isn't solely the wigs and the meat dress and the dead muppets.

I think nowadays, with her voice now recognized, it's once again cool to like Gaga without a stigma attached to it.

No one is actively hating on her in the GP anymore. I think it's actually lame to hate on her publicly now. That being said no one even really talks about her in music oriented convos anymore (at least for the ppl around me). So she is sort of respected now by the GP but her music isnt on the GPs radar. At least not enough to discuss it. That's how I see it.

Unfortunately no, for me at least… Kids at my school don’t appreciate music apart from the hits.

One time, a girl from my glass, that apparently liked TheEdgeOfGlory.mp3, asked me if Lady Gaga was a psycho or something. :icega:

You don’t want me to tell you about the others, do you? :selena:

Not at all - I haven't met a single person in my office who's reacted negatively to me expressing my love for Gaga. Most people reply with how talented they think she is.
