i love both performances. speacially the x factor one.
I couldnt believe my eyes when i saw gaga taking off her wig,
it was the first time she wanted to present herself without all the props and make up

Not the first time, and I agree it's great when she is without her wigs.

I live outside the space time continuum.

She did it first at Swinefest, on Sept. 2013. :)

I like the GMA performance, but I feel like it was all an excuse to sing Over The Rainbow in a classical way. Let's not forget this was only a year before the start of the Cheek to Cheek era. I remember the beginning of the ARTPOP era: I was not a stan, but of what I was seeing, it seemed to me that Gaga was presenting herself in a normal/classy/stripped-down version now. When I became a stan later during the ARTPOP era, I discovered that she wore during that time both her craziest looks and her "normalest" looks. Looking back now while knowing what path her career took after ARTPOP, we can feel an internal conflict in ARTPOPga. She wanted to show that she was just a regular Italian-American girl from New York who sang jazz since she was 13, that she's her father's daughter, mother's daughter, sister's sister, friend's friend, chickens' owner, blah blah blah, but she was also scared to disappoint her fanbase and forced herself to be even crazier than before on some occasions. In both performances in the OP, you can see it very well: she's trying to mix the crazy with the classy. It came off kind of messy on some occasions, but I think it's because her thoughts themselves were messy themselves. Lots of confusion, I think. Let's just be happy that she does what she wants now :)

She had basically lost her whole team, pretty much changed the concept of her record and visuals at the last minute, and was burning out.

She was so unprepared for ARTPOP because of everything happening around her and it’s actually really sad when you look back at how Thrown together everything had to be.  She still wanted it to happen though which is commendable.
