Can Someone Explain to Me Why This Fanbase Hates Joanne?

Idk, I think along with ARTPOP it's a highlight of her career. It's my favorite album of hers, hands down.

Because this fanbase's musical taste hasn't evolved beyond radio friendly bops and club tracks?

Anyways: I was shooketh when I first listened to it and genuinely like the songs

@KatieJudasGaga4 A lot of what you quoted is after Superbowl. And this just shows that the most memorable moments from the era where when she used "interesting" clothes.

Like, no one will really remember looks like this...

I think it's because the majority of her fanbase just likes pop/upbeat songs and don't know how to appreciate other type of songs. I'm not limited just to a type of music for example, I can like almost every genre as long as there's some quality to the music. Joanne is my personal favorite Gaga album, it has songs for every mood you are in that moment, i love how diverse it is, how her voice sounds unedited and powerful etc. I can love a song like Perfect Illusion and listen to it again and again and then go listen to a song like Angel Down, Joanne & Million Reasons which I also f*cking love.

The idea was great in theory but poorly executed.

The vocals ruined some of the songs, the overall aesthetic wasn't cool at all, the visuals weren't great, and why is her team still making bad choices by picking the wrong single? If this album was sung better, and had better visuals and aesthetic, this fanbaee would love it despite the lack of dance.

I also think it’s because the album pandered to the straights and the conservatives and they usually have awful taste in everything :huntyga:

I do not hate it. I just do not like it. To spell out each of the reasons why I do not like it (except MR):

It was completely unexpected. It has a different sound. And it's very country. I do not listen to country music. None of my gay friends listen to country music.

The sound of the album points directly to the general public. But only to the general public of the United States! By having so much country influence, practically, here in Argentina the album went unnoticed.

I felt that she made the record she wanted. And that seems very good to me. It is super personal. And that's something I like about Joanne.

The production of the album is very crude. And many songs seem to me unfinished. But LG's voice is spectacular. For something she received the Grammy nomination for such vocal quality.

And many other reasons. But in summary, it is NOT an album for the fans. It is a personal album that aims to reinvindicate LG as the excellent artist she is. I see it as the end of the cleaning cycle. Re begin after ARTPOP. And reinstate YOUR artistic quality in front of the general public. I believe she accomplishes that task successfully!

LET'S BE HONEST PLZ

I did not start to be a LM for Joanne. I started stanning Gaga between TFM and BTW and let's face it, almost none of you would be here today if she only made albums like Joanne, that's fact. That's not the type of music that I listen to that's all, that doesn't mean I find it bad. The era was good though even if I would've liked more singles/videos.

I would, like I feel Joanne is coming for BTW honestly.....(in my opinion) I am here and I think Joanne is better than ARTPOP, The Fame Monster and The Fame. And that "fact" wouldn't necessarily be true...
