Who knows if AHS9 will even happen. Making the Murder House/Coven cross over now instead of 2019 makes it look as if he knows its the last season

Season 9 is already signed. FX would be crazy to cancel AHS knowing it's their most popular show.

Wow it sounds like he totally hates it now, I hope he find something that fits him better... But AHS without him would be weird, although I thought the same about Jessica Lange but got used to not see her anymore...

What a weird interview... Basically saying the Ryan Murphy universe took a toll on him, and yet saying yes to everything Murphy asks him. Like, isn't he currently shooting season 8? Seems a bit masochistic at this point.

I get that he's done pretty dark stuff on the show, but isn't it part of the fun of being an actor to be able to play something that's the total opposite of yourself? Unless of course you're psychologically fragile in the first place, and I think that's what's going on here.

I mean, listening to him, it's like the dark stuff is too dark, the emotional stuff is too emotional and the sex scenes are too humiliating. I mean, why the hell are you an actor then? Those are all aspects of your job and situations that you'll keep on finding yourself into your entire career, and you should be enjoying it. At this point it's not about AHS or Ryan Murphy anymore, it's about personal issues that need to be dealt with.

Uh no. There's a multitude of acting opportunities that don't involve the stuff in this show that's intentionally exploitive and intense

Seems like he's been doing roles for years that he's not really been enjoying or been comfortable with  Maybe it is better if he just leaves it (AHS) altogether and goes through the comedic route. Both for his state of mind and happiness :ohno:

The problem is that he is being type-casted into that type of series. He wants to do other genres and work, but people will sadly not cast him for anything other than roles similar to AHS. If he doesn't successfully crossover, he will lose attention and fall to the wayside like many others.

imo Kai's character got to his mind a bit, it was a very difficult and psychotic role, kinda like how the Joker messed up Ledger..

I think it's gonna be the last season of AHS anyway...

Me too. It does seem like they are wrapping it up by doing a crossover season. It makes me think it's to give the series a conclusion.

Well we're not experiencing what he is experiencing. Plus there may be things that makes the job harder that he's not mentioning.

Supernatural has went on for like ever, and the actor who plays Sam wants to quit because he can't deal with the fans coming up to him and saying that his role on the show helped them with their lives.

Plus, also, it seems Evan is on call for AHS and other Ryan Murphy roles. He may be just to tired or he doesn't really believe he can get a job outside of horror.

He's human to. He should be treated as such. There is stuff going on in his mind we have no idea about.

Don’t forget Emma Roberts was violent with him so he may be psychologically fragile now.

I love AHS and this makes me sad. I wish him all the best. Perhaps he can still continue in less intense roles, but if he chose to stop I would understand.

It just seems very odd that he keeps on returning to it while feeling that way. And the point of my post was to emphasize the fact that there is stuff going on in his mind.

Well he may have an abused person's mindset. He doesn't know or think there's anything he could do to get out of what he's doing.

I think if Ryan made a lighter series, like maybe like something for kids, Evan should go do that. Evan seems like such a genuine guy. Plus I hate to say this but it feels like everyone working for Ryan is just stuck working for him if their name isn't Sarah Paulson or Kathy Bates.
