An opening act, by default, is an artist that most people watching the show don't know and don't care about. If the opening act wants to get exposure from opening, they have to work very hard to grab the public's attention: talk to them, make jokes, talk about the main act, be one hell of a performer. If they don't do that, they'll be forgotten by the end of their set.

Gaga was actually that, one hell of a performer when she opened for the Pussycat Dolls :tony:

He’s right. It wouldn’t have made sense for the audience. Gaga has a weird tendency to pick openers that largely don’t really make a whole lot of sense with the music she makes so it isn’t a very big promotional opportunity, really. I mean, DJWS opening the JWT? That’s an odd choice even if I liked it a lot. I admire this guy. He values his time and knows where to put his energy. It wasn’t shade at Gaga or Madonna, it was him just explaining his POV respectfully.

I loved his honesty and putting what he think is best for his work. He simply just need to have his energy and art elsewhere where it can benefit the most which I believe is more than beautiful.

Anyway, now, I'm more than hyped with his collab with Gags!

Some of them want to abuse you, some of them want be abused.

Honestly I'm not excited at all about their collaboration.

It's not like this guy has a record of hits. And notice how real hit-makers are always humble.

The list of collaborators on LG6 makes me a bit uncomfortable so far except for BloodPop (hopefully he's the executive producer).

But at the same time, Gaga doesn't need more than herself to write good music. I hope she found the inspiration for that.

Zedd was practically a nobody when they started working together, look at him now.

He's just a producer. Wait and see what he can do with Gaga by his side. :)

When Zedd was working with Gaga, he had the smash hit "Clarity" so we knew beforehand he can make good music.

why do hits matter? there's plenty of talent producers out there who don't have hits but are better than hit makers

As good as this song is, I don't think its a great mentality to base quality upon success. A majority of the top 10 right now is un-listenable!

Let's just see where it goes yea. He may surprise you.  :)

We'll see as for Zedd, he definitely delivered on ARTPOP so that's why record matters. Production wise, his instrumentals in G.U.Y and Aura were really very good! Too bad the songs lacked catchy hooks...G.U.Y production was really a masterpiece
