TEETHTEETH 1,355
Maybe they should stop glamorizing sex and relationships because of sex-addiction, STDs, abusive partners..... Drugs aren't bad. Overindulgence in almost anything will kill you. And yes some drugs are straight up poison, but again there is a darker side to everything. Drugs can heal and change your headspace. Look at the research with Marijuana, Ketamine, LSD, Mushrooms... There was a time when Cocaine was even prescribed! And without completely giving your life over (to anything) those of us that have the slightest bit of self control are actually self medicating. It's simply chemistry. I feel sorry for those that only talk bad about drugs. Those who have addiction problems have not only ruined their lives, but ruined the momentum of taking drugs to HELP. The war on drugs is a monster that puts people wrongfully in prisons. And if you haven't been ambushed by WOD, than your taxes are paying for those that have. Music isn't there to be your parent. Consciously make better decisions for yourself. And for some of us that may mean pop a pill or do a bump.

PsychicGuru 1,592
Romanticize? That's a problem. Illustrating a personal struggle overcoming addiction? About that. Gaga's #1 fan
HiddenWeirdo 4,267
Well, it depends on so much. Of course those songs can affect someone's perspective on drugs. But to be honest, someone just not simply does drugs because of songs and their idols doing them. And it's not only because of that 'hip' and 'cool' lifestyle. If someone uses drugs, he/she might have much more serious problems which lead to that use, too. And those are problems we can't handle. Like the one of having a weak personality and not SAYING NO when someone offers you something.
HiddenWeirdo 4,267
AND THEN there is the difference between authenticity and inauthenticity. Madonna's use of MDNA as the album's name was 100% about her transfering the young dangerous lifestyle in a shocking way onto her artistic persona in order to stay relevant. Eventough she always said that she never really did drugs. And then the opposite: If there's something I love about Gaga, then the fact that she talks about her positive and negative experiences. And I do not want her to limit herself in telling them. Wether it is about drugs, sexxx or love.
