I thought she did a lot of promo for "No Tears Left to Cry", like what?

How much do they expect from her?

Well GIAW so far has nothing except the MV. NTLTC also only had Billboard and Jimmy Fallon if I'm correct, plus a bunch of magazine interviews.

kay but like why is it surprising to people, celebs and fans that if content is not heavily promoted it wont do as well as if it was? like its a basic concept, throw it out there more the better it will do...

I was going to say the same thing. She's been pushing out things all the time, just because she's not coming overseas yet, doesn't mean she's doing zero promotion. I'm glad she isn't overdoing this Era, because Ariana is often at a fine line with the public eye, either people LOOOVE her or they hate her with all their heart and think she's fake.

If she feels too traumatised or too tired to work, then she shouldn't be. We push stars into the public eye when they're not ready most of the time. Instead of making an era where you can't give 100%, just wait until you're ready. Eras that are planned haphazardly and where the singer isn't really feeling it for whatever reason hardly ever end well. Nowadays, putting out an album can be pointless if you aren't capable of promoting it, at least, that's the way a lot of labels look at it, so they just delay it until the artist is ready. If you're not feeling in the right space to work, then you shouldn't be. But when you see an artist enjoying life in every other way but then they claim they're too overworked or sad to promote their new album, you have to question it.

I don’t know - it’s easy to put a “I’m happy” face on instagram. I really don’t judge people or gague how they are doing off of things they choose to put into the world.

Not always - there can be the backlash of overkill with promotion.

Whispering

She needs to take care of herself first. Artists shouldn't have to give up their life for their career. It's better in the long run when they find a healthy balance.

:triggered:  She just could be honest and tell "that D is too good to pass, fam! You'll get me someday" instead of these pep talk.

:giggle:

She actually has been promoting a lot.

Jimmy Fallon, Billboard Music Awards, Wango Tango, Amazon Prime Day, I mean this many performances in the streaming era is considered a lot.
