What's amazing is that even Fox News and many Republicans are criticizing him for this, and his supporters are still deflecting, saying things like, "I don't see what the big deal is" or "Well it's good that we can be friends with Russia" or "But Hillary's e-mails!" At this point, Trump could announce that he has given complete and total power of the U.S. government to Russia, and his supporters would just shrug and try to start learning Russian. I have no idea how a man like this could inspire such fanatical admiration. I mean, I loved Obama, but I still disagreed with some of his policies, and I acknowledged that. With these people, everything Trump says and does is perfect and great, and any criticism is just the "libruhl meedya" trying to tear him down. It's absurd.

Scary. Why should U.S allies trust the U.S when he is cozying up with a man who has interfered in multiple foreign elections, who has sponsored assassinations and assassination attempts in other countries, who invaded Crimea?

The U.S admits that, obviously, intelligence from foreign networks is important and even vital to U.S interests. Why should we share any intelligence now? How can we trust a U.S administration that pushes away their allies in favour of dictatorships and governments that are hostile foes?

This is a dark day not only for the U.S but for democratic, free countries all over the world.

But just as there are Trump supporters who eat everything he does up, there was the same with Obama supporters. I mean every end of the spectrum (plus everything in between) of opinions are going to be in America.

Obviously Trump is an idiot, but even if there is 100% proof of something terrible that he did, there will still be people who support him. That’s just life.

Could you imagine if Hillary Clinton was president, if it was revealed by U.S intelligence that Russia had interfered in the U.S elections and Hillary Clinton had denied it and instead said things like:

"My people came to me, [Director of National Intelligence] Dan Coats came to me and some others saying they think it's Russia. I have President Putin, he just said it’s not Russia. I will say this, I don’t see any reason why it would be."

If Hillary Clinton said that, I don't see her having the support of Democrats in congress, I don't see her having the support of Democrat voters... Conservative media would have gone insane, all media outlets would have gone insane, Clinton would have been impeached that very day.

I mean... TRUMP SAID THAT. Those words came out of his mouth. It's insane. 

Trump supporters are just a lost cause honestly. It's pure tribalism. The dear leader says something and the tribe agrees and defends him to death. I really don't see a world in which Hillary Clinton supporters and Democrats in general would have such blind support.

I know it's not the polite thing to say, I know we aren't supposed to be so 'divisive', but Republicans are just clearly unreasonable people. The most recent Gallup poll (July 9-15) shows he has a 90% approval rating among Republicans. They are blinded by propaganda, they live in an alternate reality, they don't care about facts, they are unreasonable. Frankly, they are batshit crazy.

I'm sorry that I'm being so "divisive" I'm sorry that "this is the problem" but I mean FFS. Can we not just acknowledge the truth? How is it being "divisive" to acknowledge that these people are unreasonable? Why should anyone be aiming to compromise and find middle ground with people so out of touch with reality?

One side deals with facts, the other side doesn't care for them. That's been true for a long while now, it ramped up during the presidential campaign, and now any inconvenient facts Republicans don't like is "fake news".

I always try to look at things from different perspectives so I can gain a more well-rounded opinion and not simply repeat political talking points. That being said, one thing that people tend to forget is that American politics has moved so far to the right in the past 30 years or so that any politician who would be considered a moderate centrist in any other country would be considered an insane, far left loony liberal here. Conservatives always have to be the ones dominating the conversation while liberals are expected to compromise and make concessions. And it's created a huge double standard. I mean, if you are a Democrat running for office, you're expected to be a paragon of virtue, simultaneously be progressive and moderate, be appealing to all levels of U.S. society, and be willing to reach across the aisle to work with Republicans. If you're a Republican? You just have to be white and rich. Trump is the perfect example of that.

In my province the PC party just won a majority Government even tho they won by minority but because of the seats system
