Even with that, his base will still support him. Everyone in US politics is seemingly divided. Rightfully so when 45 is so horrible. But I feel like many of us are tired of the mindset of "voting for the lesser evil." How is that a healthy "democracy?" Does anyone else see a tide in political party labels shifting? It seems that some of the right has gone fundamentalist/extremist and some of the right has gone "soft" left? And some of the left is getting more central and some of the left is getting farther left (I personally am of the far left camp--social anarchism, for the win!). Anyway, we need some sort of ranked choice voting, abolish the two party system. I'm not sure but given what Late Stage Capitalism (and both parties are deeply rooted in the problematic system of Capitalism) sets the stage for, 45 could easily see a second term. It blows because society was seemingly moving towards progressive mindsets but technology screwed us over with promulgating divisive people like 45's base and Tumlbr SJWs. Plus, and this isn't the place for a long argument, humans' fear of death (look up "the Denial of Death") drives us towards blaming the other and returning to a "Demon Haunted World" (to borrow Sagan's phrase). There's no open-minded middle ground anymore to promote a more just society or crack open a beer and talk about these heavy topics -- even with someone you may not agree with.
