Ghost in shell was bad but didnt bother me she had europpean traits. Its sad how hollywood doesnt evolve. They are a bunch of afraid cats who bet in the safest bet.

On the other hand this movie obvs comes from a chemistry/bond betwen actor/director. Shes an actress. Man/woman have portraied and reversed genres. This cant be different just cause internet wants to show outrage and expose transphobia.

No one complained at Felicity Huffman's portrayal of a trans woman, in fact her performance was convincing and really really good. 

There are trans characters every other year, they aren't common, these kind of movies are marketing using a well known actor. If she does a convincing and good job, what's the harm? That's what an actors job is to do, make you believe they are someone completely different to themselves to tell a story.

That was 13 years ago. Trans people barely had a voice in the media and it was a different time altogether.

No, it's not. Just because people don't see a problem where you do doesn't mean we show empathy only to white gay males. 

Kesha was heavily supported on this site, the whole Me too campaign was, Harvey Weinstein was cancelled in a second, women are usually more supported here than men and we all here support the whole LGBT community. 

We just don't meltdown that a trans actress didn't get the role. It's a business and they gave the role to a well-known actress who can bring publicity rather than looking x months for an unknown trans actress.

anyways it's not that hard to find a trans actress, you just put out a casting call for trans actors and they'll come swarming

if they did that first but didn't find what they were looking for, fine but i hardly doubt they did

Don't we? 

They probably didn't, but why would they? It's easier to cast somebody who the director knows and is also a huge name in the movie industry. I mean, it would be nice if they found some trans actress, but none of them would bring the publicity that Scarlett brings and thats probably what they want.

cus it's a trans role  they have the money and the time lol and any trans actor who's got the drive will constantly be on the look out for casting opportunities for trans people

scarlett isn't the only big name out there, they could have put another big name on a different role

Well it's a trans role before surgery right? They were probably looking for somebody more feminine than most trans men are. It's basically a woman on her way to becoming a man, so it kinda makes sense to cast a woman rather than a trans man.

Even if they'd be lucky to find somebody willing to take the role and show himself in front of millions of people before his transition, there is no way he would be more experienced in acting than Scarlett and that's what they want, an experienced person.

because representation goes a long way  and like i said, they just put out a casting call and let the people come to them. if that fails then wig
