Please let me know which current actress has the same features as these trans men?

In cases like this it would make sense to cast either a trans male (post op/hormones) or a trans female (pre op/hormones) or a cis male because they would match closest  Should've specified that I meant pre-op/hormones in my previous post  Either way this brings me back to what I said in my previous post, "If the features are correct then yes :laughga:"

So a dainty, ultra-femme girl like Scarlet has the features to play a trans man who was a feared mobster? Okaaay.

And you're limiting the trans experience to appearence and passability which in itself is highly problematic. You're basically arguing that a woman in drag is the same as a pre-op man. It's like saying a white actor with a tan can play a light-skinned black person because the features look similar. Then I guess Rachel Dolezal didn't do anything wrong.

She's a talented actress and they can play around with features to an extent, so I don't see why not  I guess we'll have to wait and see how it goes.

Just as straight people can be played by gay people and gay people can be played by straight people, I don't think trans people have to be played by trans people - that's where acting comes into it. No I'm not "basically arguing that a woman in drag is the same as a pre-op man" :duck: I'm arguing that an actor doesn't need to face the same struggles or lead the same life as the character they're playing. If they can look the part then they can use their acting talents to play the part.

Ok, I'll stop arguing with you because I clearly can't change your complacent viewpoint towards fair representation and it's of no use barking up the wrong tree.

First of all, Japanese people were okey with white people in the movie GITS. Now let the minority group of trans speak and say what they think. White people ALWAYS have to defend something they dont know jack **** about and eventually feeling offended for someone else. No one asked you to and you got it wrong everytime.

That's the problem, though. Trans actors are denied roles because they are trans. They won't even let them audition for cis roles. So it's understandable why they'd be upset that the few roles that they can audition for are also often given to cis actors.

I am not aware of any trans actor being rejected for cis roles solely because of being trans and not because there are better actors. Could you point to an example?

Oh, so you think they scouted long and hard for some trans talent but they couldn't find ONE good trans actor that they had to get Scarlet Johansson as a last resort?

I wonder who's the naive one.

Hello???? They're making a movie here. It's a cost-benefit analysis. If trans actors are so under the radar, why would a producer go to great lengths to find trans actors when it is not guaranteed that they will do well in auditions? :saladga:

What makes you think all of us are white? And the trans community has spoken and the majority is offended by it.

I'd rather care about people than be a dipsh*t who stews in his own ignorance.:ohwell:

No need to get personal, things never go anywhere but downhill from there

Someone being trans doesn’t mean they’re the only ones fit to play a trans role, that’s not how acting works

The trans man has biologically female features and so a cis female playing it isn't out of the ball park because a cis female also has biologically female features.

Oh god, the transphobia

In the post after I state that I meant pre-op/hormones in that post. If you disagree with that then please explain why :laughga:

Because the majority who do this are white. They try so hard to get rid of the ''white guilt'' and to prove whatever they want to prove, that they feel like they have to speak in behalf of others. No, stop this stupid nonsense
