Madonna To Stop Harassing Neighbors

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Gerald Lebovits said the pop superstar was “merely harassing” fellow residents of her Upper West Side co-op for continuing to seek records from the board after she lost a legal bid challenging a rule that required her to be physically present in her $7.3 million pad when any of her family or staff are there.

She wanted access to board records including voting information and annual meeting minutes to “investigate how her lease was changed” and “how her family may use Unit 7A without breaching the lease.”

Madonna sued Harperley Hall on West 64th Street and Central Park West in 2016 — two years after the board changed her original proprietary lease to say that her children and domestic help cannot live in the unit unless she herself is “in residence” at the time.

Honestly I don’t blame her, that sounds ridiculous that she paid 7 million for a place and can’t have other people stay there

This is a big issue in Manhattan regardless of how much you spent on your apartment. They are being used as hotel rooms for strangers (in the eyes of neighbors) and it can be disruptive to other tenants.

Well, exclusive condos have different rules usually. All the people who lived in such places are very picky. Maybe they are not comfortable with strangers keep going in and out the building. If it supposed to be exclusive pad, they can complain about it.

Besides, Madonna seems not well liked there, since the neighbors have sued her before for playing loud music

Exactly. It's safe to say that her neighbors are incredibly wealthy, with expensive valuables, and that they may not be in their property all the time. I don't blame them for feeling uncomfortable with strangers being in the building for extended periods of time with no supervision by Madonna's staff. They have no guaranteed way to know if they should be there or not.

I just can't imagine someone saying "I'm Madonna's neighbor" for some reason :toofunny:

I can see both sides of the argument from her and her neighbors tbh.

I imagine she'd have so many people coming in and out of her house for various reasons that it could be disruptive to the other neighbors living there. Yet at the same time it's her home and at the very least her family should be able to stay whenever she wishes them to, regardless if she's there or not  I hope they can work it out.

They really think that ****ing Madonna needs to rent her 7Million dollars apartment to some airbnb tourist? It is stupid. It’s my house and I can invite friends, my workers or whoever the **** I want if I am not there.

Not in rich people's world, you're not. These wealthy folks were promised exclusivity, quiet place, and who knows what else for getting an apartment in luxury block like this one. They got big money, and they have big demands. If some of them complains because their demands are not met because of one other tenant, obviously the management gonna cater to the majority.

Not to mention these wealthy people most likely knows who's who in the city and they can always tell them to black list you from their venue. It goes a long way.

Does it really matter if there are rich people or poor people staying there? They are unsupervised in a building where people live. They have every right to be bothered. Clearly it happens a lot or they wouldn't be mad. How would you feel if you were trying to live your life and the people next door were being disruptive and its not even your real neighbor.

Or maybe Madonna is just an awful neighbor and they hate her and want to get her in trouble. :vegas:
