High As Hope is out

SEXODUS

She delivered two of my all-time favorites with Lungs and Ceremonials, yet I was stunned at the etherial and cleaner HBHBHB.

With High As Hope it’s obvious that she didn’t take any risky paths, didn’t experiment as much as she did in past, but still every track fills me with joy and amusement.

It’s sort of a completion of a journey: a journey to hope and hopeful happiness.

June, South London Forever, Big God and 100 Years are my absolute favorites.

9.5/10

Mythos

Guys, it's officially released, why you looking for a leak? Well, at least in Europe it's out on Apple Music.

Really a beautiful album!

Psychic Guru

Lyrically it may be her best work yet.

Also, I don’t understand people saying it’s not experimental as the other albums. I feel like she explored new sounds and melodies, which are very particular and original imho.

What ill say is that I think this is a poetry album first and foremost. It’s very clear where her headspace is and that’s not a bad thing. Where Ceremonials was CLEARLY about the lush instrumentation, this is clearly an album structured to let the lyricism shine. Personally, I love the songs that are less of her typical sound minus Hunger. I like the farther out tracks most because those productions are the most absolutely careful and measured.

This isn’t her most adventurous vocally but she sounds beautiful and I actually love it because, again, it’s about shining the ideas and illuminating them with everything she can. It’s masterful performance and interpretation of the words she wrote.

My favorites are June, Hunger, Big God, Sky Full of Song, and No Choir
