Ziggy 11,463 Posted June 17, 2018 Share Posted June 17, 2018 I think this is very much a sonic sequel to 4:44 and it’s obvious why Bey and Jay deviated when Lemonade started taking shape because it’s *so* different in sound. It makes me wonder what Bey’s next solo will sound like and most especially what it will be like thematically. BEYONCÉ was very much about her life and marriage (fitting for a self-titled), Lemonade was infidelity and reconciliation, and this is celebration of marriage and then as a couple (again, makes sense for a pair-up album). But it makes me wonder where she’ll go for the next album and then also the sound since Lemonade had some fairly progressive pop, urban and r&b sounds.
