I’m all for critiquing works of art, but this particular critique I don’t agree with for the reasons others have listed. Gaga is saying you were born as you are regardless of what that is, that means mind, or body, or spirit. The only “born this way” critique that I see merit in is the one that says that it sounds like an apology to say “don’t harm me, I was born this way, I cant help it.” That’s fair and it could be read that way, but I think the sentiment is still worth considering. Life and experiences continually make us who we are, in my humble opinion Being born gay, straight or bi means sexuality is innate.
