And she believes that Gaga’s modern queer hymn (Born This Way) was arguably a “misstep.” Titled: I’m trans, and I don’t care if we were ‘born this way’. Neither should you. “What does being a trans person in a transphobic society produce? At the moment, too often, it’s still violence, prejudice and discrimination. Lady Gaga told trans people we “were born to survive”. The lyrics do not literally mean we were born with our biological parts and that is that, but rather that who you are is your truth and that is something that cannot be taken away. Moreover, that those differences are not a mistake and that no matter what path you take to feeling comfortable with yourself, you were brought into this world to survive and survive you should. If you take the song literally, maybe it can be hard to see, but this just seems like a case of overthinking way too much. This just proves that people will get offended at everything.
