I mean...there is a double standard even if not in this particular case and it’s a very sexist one. The idea is rooted in the thought that a woman is too weak to abuse a man who is her physical superior. Nah. Women can and do perpetrate crimes of sexual violence against men and its destructive to say that there is not a difference in the optics. Women stay silent because of socio-cultural power dynamics, men stay silent for fear of being shamed and laughed at rather than helped (a flip side of the same motivation that keeps women silent in cases of abuse). He has a point though... I understand that in this particular situation it definitely wasn't sexual assault. Max thought it was a harmless prank, and so that ends this discussion. That said, if it were the same exact thing, expect a male artist doing it to one of his female friends (even if their female friend didn't think of it as sexual assault), people would be saying "Oh you're awful!" and "You can't joke about that stuff like that!" That's because Trump has a lot of followers that will literally support and defend anything he does/says, even if it's clearly wrong. Maybe but both of your points are irrelevant as he is saying "in this specific case". As for M Monstre you only assuming thatd happen we have no evidence thatd point to that happening. This is such a weird case that there isnt anything to compare it to.

Exactly. Demi did not sexually assault her friend. But if a man would’ve joked about this, the way she did, he would gotten a lot more backlash. I’m actually nice. My point is irrelevant in this specific case, yes, but that doesn't mean that there aren't similar cases out there like it. As for having "no evidence," evidence can be seen all around us. It's rooted in our society. Being perceived as "masculine" is often times more important than actually talking about the issues. There have been times where men (and often teenage boys) have been sexually assaulted by female teachers and adult women. Now here is an actual issue of sexual assault, yet it doesn't get as much coverage and is definitely not taken as seriously as it would have been if the roles had been reversed. No one is discussing any of this last part currently. There is no reason to bring it up. Although I happen to agree with it, it doesn't apply in this instance. Katy Perry kissing that American idol contestant got a LOT of discussion until he said it wasnt sexual assault. Once someone said it isnt, then its not full stop. This didnt get coverage because no sexual assault occurred.

Anderson123 38,475
Apparently the bodyguard even laughed about it so I don’t get why people are going crazy about this.

I brought it up because it showcases that women who do commit sexual assault don't get as much coverage as guys. I'm not comparing it to this instance; I solely used it to aid my argument. As for the whole Katy Perry ordeal, yeah there were people who called her out, but there were also a lot of people who said: "Are you guys crazy?" "This isn't sexual assault/harassment" or "You're blowing it out of proportion." If Lionel Richie did the exact same thing to a young female contestant, no one would be saying "you're blowing this out of proportion."
