LG6 Needs to be Woke

I want a Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz or a Lemonade, not an American Life.

For example, Lemonade was about infidelity, but in Formation was political too.

One song is okay, but a whole album?

Anyway she should do what she wants, I'm here for a C3C or an ARTPOP 2, I don't care.

It seems like pop artists who are not woke get trashed. Taylor, Ed, Timberlake, etc. And Katy Perry probably doesn't flop if her album was more like the lead single.

REALITY

She's always been "woke" though. It's great that more artists are taking a stand for important issues, but this is something Gaga's been doing for years. I mean, right from the get-go she supported the LGBTQ community and took a stand fighting for them.

She'll probably have a few songs on LG6 that touch on something political and/or be a social commentary, but honestly, I'd rather her make some upbeat/fun songs.

LG6 just needs to make Gaga happy

Exactly this!!! If she feels like making a political album a la BTW and she really believes in that, then welcome...but if she is gonna just do it because is a trend then nah :trollga:

What if tomorrow I see you again? Should I say that I used to love you?

Yeah...she said that her new album was gonna be woke pop like CTTR but at the end it was nothing like she said. I'm sure she just make a woke song because it is the trend

It doesn't need to, because.. From my point of view, someone's art/creation shall be pure.. Whether the song's just woke, or just a fart... Not just pretend to be woke, or just jump on a bandwagon and hypetrain

Edit:At the very least, like someone said on this thread.. It need to be purposeful

Let’s be clear: Gaga has never been fully “woke”. And it’s not entirely her fault, since fame keeps you in a bubble.

Shes an affluent, well educated white woman. At best, her feminism has been soaked in white feminism. It took her a long time to ever say “Black Lives Matter”, and her support for Hillary over Bernie also shows her mindset in terms of pseudo/neo-liberalism.

However, you can’t deny her good intention and heart. :)

so YES, it would be nice if Gaga fully stepped up to the plate with this album and delivered sonically and socially.

How do you approach this kind of social issues as a white woman?

Let's be serious. BTWGaga addressed several risqué topics which got her banned and caused protests in many countries. Self-love, LGBT rights, Inmigration. Just tell me another popstar that caused as much trouble as she did.

But let's not pretend that Black Twitter wouldn't trash her if she ever mentioned racism explicitly in her lyrics.

What exactly is “white feminism”? I’ve seen a few people use this term before but I don’t get it. Why can’t it just be feminism? I’m not white but I’m able to relate to Gaga and songs like Scheiße, etc.
