Kristopher Tapley's article for Variety:

"That you can get two paragraphs into spelling out the virtues of this film before even mentioning Lady Gaga is a testament to its density. She is, of course, sensational in her first starring role — an absolute natural. And when her version of the discovered talent, here called Ally, first steps onto a stage early in the film to perform one of her own songs for the first time — already a highlight from its positioning in the trailer alone — I’ve rarely seen so arresting a moment in cinema."

OMGGGG also this part: "Yes. It has the muscle to achieve what only three films in movie history ever have: Win all five major Academy Awards (picture, director, actor, actress, and screenplay). It’s that kind of accomplishment."

Of course its not gonna happen but still, AMAZING review. I cant believe this is happening!

People are comparing ''Vox Lux'' to ASIB(and Gaga's career). Apparently, its also a musical and Natalie Portman could be Gaga's competition for best actress

Yep but since it still doesn't have a distributor, it's unclear if it will compete at those upcoming oscars.

Let's hope it won't, Nathalie can compete in 2020 :vegas:

Vox Lux

100% fresh

7 fresh

0 rotten

based on 7 reviews, its not really fair to compare it to ASIB( 21 reviews).

Voux Lux is not getting that much press, nobody really knows about this movie, the teaser has less than 200k views in youtube but its understandable since it doesn't have a distributor

I heard Natalie Portman is technically a supporting actress because shes only inn the second half of the movie? Not sure if true.

''The film begins in 1999 with teenage sisters Celeste (Raffey Cassidy) and Eleanor (Stacy Martin), who have survived a seismic, violent tragedy. The sisters compose and perform a song at about their experience, making something lovely and cathartic out of catastrophe — while also launching a career. The sisters draw the attention of a passionate manager (Jude Law) and are rapidly catapulted into fame and fortune, with Celeste as the star and Eleanor the creative anchor. By the film’s second half, set in 2017, the now 31-year-old Celeste (Natalie Portman) is mother to a teenage daughter of her own (Raffey Cassidy) and struggling to navigate a career fraught with scandals when another act of terrifying violence demands her attention.''

so Natalia basically playing the adult version of Celeste
