Sweetener is already at 1 billion streams Youtube + Spotify (almost 500M on Spotify alone) and have No Tears at Ariana's most acclaimed songs. Both No Tears and God is Ariana's most outside of the box music video. Overall, Sweetener is > ARTPOP. ARTPOP is way more iconic tho.

That's great that a 2018 album's singles are doing so well on Spotify. Not sure why that's necessary to bring up in an ARTPOP comparison.

Applause spent 14 weeks in the Top 10 and is 3x Platinum.
NTLTC won't even match that 14 weeks and doesn't look like it's going to reach 3 million SPS anytime soon.

They're very similar chart wise as of now. If GIAW goes Top 10 and doesn't linger in the Top 20 for weeks on end like DWUW then sure I'll say ARTPOP did worse singles wise.

Not sure why you're bringing up videos I thought you were saying that Sweeteners singles were more successful than ARTPOP's not that it had better music videos.

First 13 weeks:

Applause: #6 - #4 - #6 - #7 - #7 - #8 - #9 - #9 - #8 - #9 - #7 - #10 - #10 (1213 inverse points)
NTLTC: #3 - #10 - #10 - #7 - #9 - #10 - #13 - #9 - #9 - #8 - #15 - #8 - #8 (1194 inverse points)

Applause is actually doing better in the US in my opinion, especially considering it had stiffer competition.

not just in your opinion. It objectively did better. The one position difference in their peak doesn't change that. It's like saying Million Reasons is bigger than Needed Me just because the former peaked at #4 and the latter at #7.

Also, if everything went as planned with an August 19th release along with the music video she would've gotten a #3 debut (that's how Ari did it).

Songs that peaked at #11 this year

Be Careful - Cardi B

In My Blood - Shawn Mendes

Mine - Bazzi

Friends - Anne Marie / Marshmello

All Mine - Kanye West

God is a Woman - Ariana Grande (so far)

Is this a new record for #11 peaks in a year?

No Tears already hit 11 weeks in the top 10.Maybe not in the US yet but in comparision to worldwide success, ARTPOP does wish to have that kind of successful singles from Sweetener.

They are really ****ing it up if they release the soundtrack on Oct 5th. The only thing that'll be good for is debut week numbers.

Releasing Sept 29th allows for better Grammy chances because of recency bias and ensures two strong sales weeks. If she releases Oct 5th she might get blocked by TØP. Plus its better to build hype for the movie by releasing the soundtrack before and I like it that way so I'll be familiar with the songs when I watch the movie.
