No way, the soundtrack is not doing less than 140k first week

we like to compare TGS a lot to ASIB, but we also have to take into consideration that TGS didn't have a fanbase when it debuted and that's one of the reasons why it debuted at #3 on Billboard 200.

Gaga has a large fanbase, I'm sure the soundtrack will debut with more than 140k sales.

The fact that ASIB is already Gaga's best album :rip:

I Will Never Love Again, Shallow and Always Remember Us This Way are her best songs

Born this Way is her best album to date. This is part of the terms and conditions users agree to before posting in this thread.

K bye.

Who knows where it will rank overall, but I will say it is definitely shaping up to be an extension and perfection of some of the things she was trying to do on Joanne (and I say that as a Joanne stan), which is exciting to see.

My only "complaint," if you can call it that, with Joanne is that, as a whole work of art, it seemed a bit hesitant to commit to anything and therefore is not very cohesive. I like all of the individual songs, but stylistically it's kind of scattered. Kinda wish she had committed to incorporating country/folk/acoustic elements across the board.

ASIB has the benefit of serving the film, and that context can explain away the inclusion of both folk/country and polished pop. But even from what I have heard of the more country/singer-songwritery type songs, they are like a more confident, perfected version of Million Reasons or Joanne, and it feels sooooo good to finally see her nail that style.

As for the Gaga version, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” is on the soundtrack album.

"I’ve heard she sings a part of it in the movie. That’s a lovely, lovely tribute—typical of her wonderful admiration for the arts. She’s so talented. I think Bradley Cooper is today’s Gary Cooper. He can sing, dance, and is a wonderful actor and we’ll see what a magnificent director he’s going to show us all. I couldn’t be happier that this film is coming out. When I saw Crazy Rich Asians, they showed a trailer for it. Afterwards, a girl said, “That I wanna see.” I had a big grin on my face."

David Bowie's stuck up son should take notes :triggered:

Lorna Luft and Liza Minnelli both are such wonderful ladies :kara:

we have to always remember that Gaga is a mainstream artist, I'm sure some people will say the same thing about LG6 cause apparently, the album will have ''PC'' influences but I get your point, Gaga promoted the album as a country/folk album when in reality is a pop album.

I just hope ASIB has good lyrics like sinner's prayers
