One of the members of P&J forum (torontodj) went to the ASIB's extra screening added by TIFF last night.

Here's what he's said:

This film is worthy of the hype. Just a phenomenal film. This will be not only be a blockbuster and an Oscar contender, but it will be a film + soundtrack cultural phenomenon like Saturday Night Fever, Dirty Dancing, The Bodyguard and Titanic.

Gaga is terrific in it. I never thought of her as Gaga; she was Ally. Her chemistry with Bradley is electric. Bradley has done an incredible job directing. There is a shot of Gaga near the beginning which is so beautiful, haunting and moving, it really was the moment I realized this was going to be a special film.

Titanic was literally the highest grossing film of all time, and got 11 Oscars.....

Now the approach of the Academy is very different

There's a real difference regarding 'Artistic' films and Blockbusters

That's why there's talks for the 'Best Popular Picture' award going on

And maybe ASIB is getting between those categories and this can be disadvantageous 

A movie professional said in his video that ASIB might be too commercial to pretend getting a lot of Oscars, but still saw it being nominated

I think it’ll be real easy for them to do ticket bundles because sometimes on sites like fandango, they give out free posters with movie ticket purchases 🤷🏻‍♂️ hopefully they include the soundtrack
