Yeah, even Joanne could have done much better if Gaga had enough time after her SB to release more singles. She released The Cure but that did nothing to Joanne since it wasn't on the album. With all the opportunities that was not used, that album still did really good

I think it's interesting how Carrie Underwood and Josh Groban who opened with 164,000 and 177,000 with their last albums respectively have these release dates. 9/28 was avoided even though it's still in time for the Grammy deadline (both of them are Grammy nominee favorites). 

I know I'm probably reaching but it isn't out of the ordinary for industry people to have access to the release dates of upcoming albums. Their teams probably saw A Star Is Born - LADY GAGA on 9/28 and avoided it on purpose. 

On 9/28 we still only have that Prince compilation and Troye Sivan album, 2 albums that were never going to be in the running for #1. Knock on wood but it seems like it's going to remain that way..

Do we know FOR SURE that ASIB soundtrack is coming on the 28th though?

I hope we get another number 1 album, Gaga deserves it
