I agree but ASIB is way more GP friendly than any of those movies tho

You're right

So having Gaga is an advantage for this movie's box office however I'm afraid the Academy won't be down with giving the award actors work for their all life (best lead) to a controversial singer aka Gaga. They might be afraid of backlash...

anyway I'm quite optimistic overall

FRANZGA

i honestly didn't expect this movie to get this amount of praise or it doing well in the box office AT FIRST. all i care before is the ASIB OST Album.

but considering the trailer and the amount of attention it got, i think it got a good shot..

:excited2:

That's possible but the Academy seems to like Gaga, they did ask her to perform 2 times in recent years.

I do think Golden Globes are more likely than Oscars. Here the movie and her will be in the comedy/musical category so she won't face all those drama actresses (Viola Davis etc.)

Guys do you know that even Call Me By Your Name, which was nominated for at least 4 oscars (that I can remember), 'only' grossed 40 million WW. (and I feel like a lot of my straight friends have seen it)

3 billboards which was a clear favorite 'only' grossed 140 million WW (I didn't like the movie but that's my opinion)

And The Shape of Water which WON Best Picture 'only' grossed 190 million WW.
So, even in Oblivia where ASIB wins oscars easily, it might not gross more than 200M so don't get your hopes up

HOWEVER the fact that other movies cas so easily pull 400M at the box office still gives it a shot

Anyway the point is that we should keep of expectations realllll low

It depends on what you are looking for from this project—commercial or critical success. Seeing as we are a charts thread, numbers are basically what we are looking for and an objective measure would be whether it profits. Acclaim can be discussed here of course and it would be great if she wins an Oscar or two but that shouldn’t mean we have to ignore the commercial aspect.

If Gaga snatchs a nomination, thats enough for me. Its her first major role, dont forget that. Look at poor Diane Warren with 8/9 nominations and still no wins

It would be great for her to finally have a major win though.

I’m really surprised Delicate is slowly growing, kinda fast on radio now, definitely here for it

I hope it becomes a cute top 20, crossing my fingers for 10 lol, hit :diane:

I saw a comment on the trailer of a GPster/straightster asking where could he find the song in the end of it:vegas:

(And I'd bet the one who replied him is from GGD because he told him bookmark me nnnnnnnnnnnnnn):poot:
