I showed my sister the trailer and she thought the song at the end was MR, so I guess she's not alone :ohwell:

Since our box office speculations are all over the map, here's an opinion from Scott Mendelson - film critic and box office pundit for Forbes:

"...Most importantly, it has plenty of appeal for folks who have little interest or knowledge in the source material or prior remakes of this once-original fame-and-fortune romantic musical drama. WB has slotted this one in the early-October spot occupied by Gravity, The Martian and Blade Runner 2049. Since I’m guessing this didn’t cost $160 million to produce, anything approaching Blade Runner 2049‘s $245m total would be a massive win for this would-be “event movie for adults.”

He's  referring to worldwide take.

$245m is too high. That would make it the 9th highest grossing R Rated movie of all time, which is not realistic at all.

I think, he's setting up the ceiling that anything approaching this number would be a massive win.

It's just an opinion, we all have them.

Between $100M-$150M would be amazing for ASIB. It is rated R, remember that too.

No no no no this is not how it works. First we need to find out the budget cost. Double it for marketing costs and then we can find out if it’s earning or not.

$40M was the budget.

The movie is produced by both Warner and Live Nation. They most likely split the marketing cost.

BTW, whoever is keeping the views score, add those from the LN Twitter and other accounts. Even LV chairman tweeted the trailer.
