Backstreet Boys VS *NSYNC - The Great Debate

The boy band debate that has withstood the test of time. Twenty years later,people still argue about these two legendary boy bands. Backstreet Boys gave the world show-stopping hits and amazing choreography. Twenty five years later,BSB is still going strong with the release of their new single "Don't Go Breakin' My Heart" and an impending new album. *NSYNC also gave the world amazing things too,such as amazing choreography and catchy beats. While *NSYNC unfortunately didn't last as long as BSB has *cough* Justin Timberlake *cough*,they still have cemented a legacy in the pop culture consensus. Both bands have been awarded Hollywood Walk Of Fame stars (BSB in 2013 and *NSYNC this year) and both bands have sold several million records,won countless awards,and performed explosive concerts on tours across the globe.

This thread is not to start a war or get people riled up. This is just a fun little debate where the fans can give their two cents on who is the better band. If you grew up in the 1990s-early 2000's you will definitely remember the schoolyard debates on who was better. Let's have some fun,guys and gals!

NSYNC were like the pussycat dolls, 2 singers and the rest are there for a decoration.

BSB it was fun, emotional, cool, everything mixed together and like inside the fan base you had those wars of who is a better singer/hotter/etc. it was so much fun!

BSB has so many iconic, timeless songs.. NSYNC has like 1? BYEx3?

Like if you didn't live it in the 90s, you'll never understand the impact of BSB..

 Honestly, you discounted NSYNC too much

like, they have God Must have Spent A Little More Time On You, I Drive Myself Crazy, This I Promise You, It's Gonna Be Me, Girlfriend, and many many more, like did you actually live in 90s?  Cos if you did, you'd remember these, cos I did, and I lived abroad (Asia) that time with my parents. And theybwere HUGE! And LBR, they enjoyed as much success as BSB. And they came from the same manager too, the one that got arrested and in jail now.

And there were many other popular boybands too, that people from USA may not familiar with, cos they are from Europe, mostly UK, like A1, 911, Boyzone, Westlife, Code Red, 5IVE, and that one from holland, Caught In The Act, and so on,

yeah of course I remember te songs, I had the CDs, the song I love the most is Space Cowboy.

And their best vid is IGBM cause the dolls idea is nice..

And of course Pop is one of their best songs..

I was talking more about the impact, NSYNC didn't leave so much.. maybe because they broke up so soon?

I lived the boybands era, it was amazing, so pure, I loved it so much, like there were those certain moves that they did and flirting lol

Ya, that could be true. Kind of weird that they started out in Europe just like BSB, but never touring there nor Asia when they got famous in USA.

Or members in NSYNC only take the band as stepping stone, while folks at the BSB really in it til the end.

Yeah, sad that 5IVE have premature breakup too, just like NSYNC. I heard they can't take the pressure that came with stardom

Oh ya, I actually cried when I heard about Stephen. That makes me wanan lsiten to his solo album again

I think they had some inside problems, especially between JC and Justin.. and Justin felt like the band is not good for his career.. at the beginning it was just a hiatus but after like 5 years Justin said in an interview that he his done with the band and they split up, something that the rest of the members discovered while reading this article..

5ive actually came back together few years ago for "The Reunion" tv show.. J Brown decided not to join  because he always felt too adult for the band and it f-cked him up so he doesn't want to experience it again.. then in 2014 Abz left the group.. so now they are 3.. and doing only tours..

OF COURSE I remember them

Remember Busted and McFly? and McBusted (the merge of the 2)???

So many UK bands are coming back... I wish Mis-Teeq will reunite and bring back to life the Garage scene..

I agree with All Saints, I hope this new album is much better in production value. Their best album remain the debut so far. Don't you like Chick Fit? It is kinda bop, but the way they "sing" it are kinda off to me

Lou Pearlman actually died in prison a few years ago. BSB talked about his arrest and visited his abandoned mansion in Orlando in their documentary.
