Thriller wasn't even close to MJ's best songs on that album, IMHO. (Billie Jean was so much better.) But that video - along with Madge's Like a Virgin --basically started the video-as-art movement.  BR is a better song in every sense. But Thriller, as the first concept video, probably had more over all impact.

The delusion. It's Thriller by far. :toofunny:

Judas is coming, let the cultural baptism begin.

Thats saying anything she does here on out is just some blah leftover.  I politely disagree. People said the same about Madonna every few years and she did Ray Of light waaaaaaaay into her career.

Lady Gaga has released 5 albums. There is plenty of time. Just because you got a B on a math test last week doesnt mean ya cant get an A today.  Lol :trollga:

Right but it’s kind of clear she doesn’t care to be the next Michael Jackson.. and her moving away from videos and more towards vocals it seems like she wants to be Stevie nicks or another older rock lady as opposed to Madonna

They are similar, but for different eras. Equally iconic songs with iconic videos.

Though one video is in better quality...

As much as i admire Gaga she stands no chance against MJ's legacy. Thriller along with its album wrote history that even Madonna hasn't surpassed.

Don't be delusional :awkney: Of course It's Thriller. Bad Romance is very overrated in this place :neyde:

I don't really like Thriller the song tbh, the only good thing about it is its music video. MJ has way better songs.

So my pick is very clear :firega:

Thriller is one of, if not the most impactful song in pop music imo. When you consider the video and accompanying album era. There's a reason it's the title track to the best selling album of all time :firega:

I like her the way she is and cant WAIT to see what the next few years will bring.  "Older rock lady" made me laugh tho. Haha

Speaking of Stevie, I got tickets to Fleetwood Mac JUST for the queen and im so ready. It's in Feb 2019...ridic wait. Lol.

I SO agree here. Epic video, good song but nowhere near his best. That was just a WILD heyday tho.

It's 100% Thriller. It has more impact on culture, it's music video started the trend of big, meaningful videos. But societal standpoint alone, in their careers the songs are (so far, in Gaga's case) the same. They're both their biggest hits, biggest videos in terms of success, stuff like that. But that's not to say that Gaga won't be able to release a song that's bigger or better than BR. She's released better, just not bigger.
