She's a mess http://people.com/music/rita-ora-releases-girls-bisexual-anthem/ **** I just realised my horrible spelling mistakes, but yea she mentions about it being 'powerful', which if she thinks it is, then I guess it should be. But like I said, it's very easy to sell sex and say it's supposed to be 'feminism' these days.

This is the first time I heard of this. The lyrics say: Rita: “I am excited, I’m open-minded / I’m 50/50, and I’m never gonna hide it / You should know.” https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/6264331/rita-ora-bisexual-girls-lyrics-cardi-b-bebe-rexha-charli-xcx/ But when asked specifically: When asked by People magazine whether she considers herself bisexual or fluid, the 27-year-old said: ‘I think the way … If people look at it like that, it’s very narrow-minded, and I don’t think that’s what this record is. I don’t think that that even matters.’ So glean that she doesn't label herself, but likes men and women equally

Not trying to deny Rita Ora's sexuality, but someone up there in the music industry would definitely be aware of this concept. My main point is that music labels are fully aware that girls can get away with being gay more than boys, and they would exploit that for the straight audience while at the same time playing it safe by saying it's supposed to be 'empowering'. The same way **** always show women having sex with each other in front of men but rarely those same men have sex with each other. It's not a good look on both gays or lesbians. While it's not the worst thing in the world, I do think there should be discussions about such topics.

Can’t wait for a group of straight men teasing “I like to kiss boys” teeheee. One potentially bisexual singer and 3 other not so bisexual artists coming together. It's like the equivalent of having Harry Styles, The Weeknd, Drake and Post Malone together singing about kissing boys, which will NEVER happen in this world. Matangi 3,050
I think that it is possible for something to be both a gimmick and to be empowering. this song is about bicuriosity which should be ENCOURAGED and EXPLORED, but it also is doing so by selling through a straight male gaze. it quite intersectional, so while im not mad at it, I do understand and support criticism of it. Blue wig 336
It would be fine if it were "I love you, I don't care what the straight boys think", but this is just about sex, nothing more, so it's very shallow, and therefore seems a bit dishonnest... Even if it is meant as an empowering anthem, it's so objectifying that the only message it seems to carry is "lesbians are just as disgusting as straight male rappers when it comes to being with women"... ordinarynam1310 2,453
It's a weak song regardless what it's saying. I was hoping for an empowerment anthem but then we got this boring mess
