Green Detox 2,779
“Taylor Swift wrote this song before she got her first record deal as a reaction to 9/11. It’s unreleased, but fairly easy to find. She demonstrates her struggle after the attack to believe in God, because weren’t the victims good people?”
FATCAT 60,084
I'm not a fan of Taylor, but this song was really touching. I can see why it was unreleased, since her core country fandom would have seen this as blasphemy and boycotted her, but it's such a personal song. The truth is, those that died that day were good people. Why would a loving god do that? Why does he allow all the evil to be done? My guess is that there is no god, or at least no one playing that part. This kitten over here (meow)

Gypsy Life 118,907
It's a good song but God these high notes made my ears bleed.
sethrb101 4,523
If this was done right after 9/11 she would've been 11 (12 if she had had her birthday). Really interesting and definitely wasn't aware of this before.
LordEnigma 11,313
The vocals idk if this was recorded right after the attacks (cause she’d be super young) or if it was done right before her career..

She’s most likely 12 when she wrote this. Probably months or a year after the attack back in sept 2001

TEANUS 15,086
Despite what anyone says, Taylor has a great God given talent of story telling in her writing, melody crafting, and a great voice. It's evident here, and this is coming from someone who is annoyed by her 90% of the time British social ladies with upturned pinkies, glasses clinking // xoxoTEANUS
