Way to kill any buzz surrounding her long waited release with a song like that. :emma:

Um, have you forgotten about “Focus” by Ariana? Or maybe “Skirt” by Kylie? “Pretty Girls” by Britney? “Baby Don’t Lie” and “Spark The Fire” by Gwen? Most of the singles from ANTI by Rihanna? Buzz singles are very much still a thing.

All of these are failed lead singles sis :selena:

Focus, BDL, STF, and the 2015 ANTI singles were all going to be on the albums they were working on at the time...they were scrapped, they weren’t buzz singles. They were actual singles but then left off the album.

Focus was on Dangerous Woman though :emma:

in one country in the entire world as a way to boost physical sales in one music market :emma: it was pretty much scrapped and forgotten about otherwise it would have been on all the deluxe editions

"Focus" is far from a failed lead single, "Bitch Better Have My Money" made a minor cultural impact, and "Baby Don't Lie" was critically acclaimed.  But yes, "Pretty Girls" was a flop even among fans, and "American Oxygen" received practically no recognition.

I’m....I didn’t drag Christina at all. So idk why you’re assuming I dragged her, assuming I forgot about A-YO/Million Reasons thing. It seems you don’t know the difference between a promo single and a buzz single.

TEOG & Hair were released prior to the album they were promo singles. TEOG eventually became an official single.

Venus, DWUW, Dope were released prior to the album, they were promo singles, and we all know what happened with Venus & DWUW.

Nowadays they’re referred to as “instant-grat” tracks. So the songs from Joanne that were those was Million Reasons & A-YO.

Oh sorry I must have @misunderstood your reply with the original person I replied to :cryga:

Can it really be called a buzz single if doesn't generate any buzz though :oprah:

It did generate a lot of negative complaints so at least she got promo from that :poot:

Not surprised.

Still, they should have not released that before the official first single, now it will get less attention that Accelerate.

Mess, Kanye produced it? That's... tragic. I pray this isn't indicative of the rest of his projects/music.

Same, but it's at least not recent production: "The Xtina-Yeezy collaboration is not a recent endeavor, however. She told Billboard Thursday that they met to work on the song at Rick Rubin’s California studio shortly before the release of The Life of Pablo, West's 2016 album." https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/entertainthis/2018/05/03/christina-aguilera-back-kanye-west-produced-club-track-accelerate/576419002/

This sort of grew on me, but idk why they thought this would be single material...

They had like 2 years to listen to this song, and didn't abort mission once? I bow down to pray, for the sake of Xtina fans everywhere.
