RadioIsOurs 13,873
Because recording vocals live outside the studio would not have the same quality since the acoustics are different. There may also be subtle background sounds recorded and won't be as clean. Unless they are using only one take for each number, the editors would also have to cut between each lines, so would there be a risk of a sudden change in Gaga's tone in voice? Are they also gonna re-record everything for the soundtrack release or are they lifting everything out of the film itself? I'm just nitpicking here cos I'm bored... PunkTheFunk 124,403
All I can say is that for a multi-million dollar Hollywood movie, they'll make sure the audio sounds top notch. Don't worry
DavidJP 737
Theyre probably doing what Les Mis did. they had the actors sing and then they added the instrumental in editing

Saint Laurent 4,862
Well every time she would have sang in public, she would have had a mic, which they can use to isolate her vocals. When singing on a set, there would be minimal background noise anyway. I don't believe the soundtrack will be re-recorded, it would be a waste of time. As far as I remember, Perfect Illusion was recorded in a studio and the fart noise still wasn't avoided
Easy 5,296
The mics they used are probably super cardioid which won’t pick up a lot of surrounding noises. With post productions like Melodyne and stuff, they will sound like studio recordings. And I’m pretty sure Gaga is good enough to sound consistent in different takes. Compare footages of different JWT shows, she used very similar tones. Even in studio recordings, they are recorded line by line or take by take, with computer + a good producer + Gaga’s skills there will be no problems. GovernmentGaga 446
I'm friends with the sound mixer on facebook. He was nominated for an Oscar for La La Land. It will be fine.

I feel like perhaps they should. I don't know much about music production but I think the way it has always worked is that the producers would mix the song along with recording the talent at the same time and stuff.
