Formation was the first song I heard when I got out of the hospital, and I could not have been happier in that moment; it was she who truly healed me. The voodoo look from Formation still has me #shookdt right along with the acapella moment in Freedom (the visual version) and then getting positively SLAMMED by the music cutting in took the soul out my body. I went a whole 6 months listening only to songs from lemonade, and I didn’t even mean to do that, I just loved it so much it ended up happening. This was that album for me. I feel like everyone has that one album that feels like theirs. I was 15, and it just came out at the right time. There won’t ever be a piece of music that does for me what lemonade did back in 2016.
