Then today we got some kind of tease from Rihanna on social media that might be alluding to new music. We know Rihanna's been working on this new album for a while and has had multiple song title's registered already. So my hypothesis is that Ariana and her team and label caught wind of Rihanna releasing and changed the date. Ariana is signed to Republic and Rihanna is signed to Def Jam. HOWEVER, those labels are both under Universal Music Group. My feeling is that UMG orchestrated this date change so that each girl could have her own week to shine and drive more sales in their own weeks.
