What are you talking about? It all really depends on whether Gaga and her label wants to promote it or not. If the singles from the soundtrack have hit potential, they would do the same.

They never would put so much effort in it like an full Gaga era. You say that they would do the same if the songs had hit potentialI? So you think that, for the soundtrack they would do Radio interviews all over the world. Playing on TV shows all over the world. A World Tour. Promotional events (like fan meetings for example) just for the soundtrack?

She will most likely be doing interviews to promote her movie anyways, that's what a lot of actors do. If she's doing talk shows (she did it for AHS) she could be given the chance to perform too.

A World Tour? You think she would even do a world tour now?  

Like these things do much to help promote singles today anyways... Yes, it won't be a full era, but her team isn't going to waste an entire soundtrack and not at least put out a worthy single. The single will speak for itself; if it's not good and trendy enough, then sadly, it won't be a hit. Even then, there's nothing we can do. 

It's at least less delusional then expecting Gaga to release LG6 this year, and actually promote the heck out of it.

Dude... chill. They will promote this soundtrack alongside the movie. You can’t predict sucesss. Gaga knows this first hand. So they will most likely release a single to coincide with the release and wait to see how the film does and whether that even matters in regards to the soundtrack being a hit or not. Don’t over analyze something we know nothing of. 

What we do know, however, is that this is an eclectic soundtrack. And that it’s 80% all Gaga. There’s been screenings, bits of interviews, and fans reporting from actual filming events.

I don't think the movie itself will be very huge. These days, the only movies that make headlines are either superhero movies or social justice-related movies (women rights, LGBT, POC..etc.), in other words, you're either a blockbuster with a great reputation like superhero films and Star Wars or Oscar material. But as for the soundtrack, it depends on how much Gaga will be involved in it and what type of material will it be. Also will she promote it well? will it be great enough to make headlines and be cherished among fans, at least? That remains to be seen.

Well that’s another thing! You are saying among fans. I am sure for us it will be big anyways (if the music is a bop, wich it will be ). Yes we will discuss the music etc... and we will have a lot of threads and  the soundtrack will have a lot of attention here. But will the GP talking about it?! We have to wait for that.

But bookmark me. I am sure there won’t be promo for the Soundtrack outside the US. I hope I am wrong, and if I am I will join the hype train. I just keep my expectations low to be mindblown when it’s happening.

You were implying that ASIB can't be as big as LG6 because her team will not care about it as much, to which my point was that they should care just as much and treat it as a huge project because it may have hit potential. That being said, the promotion may most likely not be on the same level, mostly because it already has a motion picture release to go along with it, and Gaga's weight on the soundtrack will not be as heavy as a full solo album of her own. That doesn't mean it will flop, it just means that such a project doesn't necessarily need the same amount of promo to become successful. 

What determines the soundtrack's success will be mainly based on how good the songs are, the popularity of the movie, how the songs play out in the film itself and whether it will connect with the audiences. If a particular song is memorable in the film, people will want to buy and stream it.

Ok with that I almost completely agree. And I am mainly speaking of the promotion. But what I really don’t think (but hope) is that they will care as much as you said. I can’t imagine honestly, not so quickly before Vegas. I don’t think they will care as much as they would care for a Gaga Album. An album is much more personal. Just that makes a huge difference between a soundtrack and a album.

The fact that some of you seems to don't care at all about the soundtrack because it's for a movie and not her solo album . It could litterly have more songs that you like then LG6 and have one song be one of her most popular ever. But since it isnt realesed yet we can't know. About promo for it, i guess they will do talkshow interviews (bradley+gaga) and gaga might peform a song at the same time.If it get's grammy/oscar nomminated it's likely she would peform one song there too. I think they will serve 1 song to radio and push it as a single to promote the movie like 1 month before the release.

About the succes of the movie, let's hope it just does well for it's genre. Ofc it won't gross anything like a disney movie or other blockbusters but i might still be very succesfull like la la land and the greatest showman, but it's to early to tell.

There are cases where a soundtrack single smashes because it already stands great on it's own, and appeal to mainstream listeners; basically almost like a stand-alone single, sometimes people don't even know these songs are part of a soundtrack. So in this case, they would want to care about it as much as singles from any other album. Doesn't matter if it's more 'personal' or not.
