Frank Ocean - Self Control

Frank Ocean - Godspeed (if you listen to the whole album in order, this song is bound to make you cry, the succession of songs before it, that melody and those heart-wrenching lyrics could make anyone cry)

Taylor Swift - All Too Well

Lorde - Supercut

There’s a lot more but these are the most emotional to me

I always cry when I listen to Ed Sheeran's The A Team, but only because of a real life experience.

So, my two older brothers had this Newfoundland dog named Abby and they loved her so dearly. Abby was some kind of mutant, I swear, she seemed much stronger than a dog should be. Well, when she needed to go to the bathroom, we would let her out on one of those steel cords wrapped in like this rubber material. One cold, icy night in January a few years ago, she snapped the cord running after something. She ran out onto the road and was hit by a car. We took her to an animal hospital and they began performing emergency surgery on her. We went back home and waited. We got a phone call from the vet. Abby was not going to make it. They were calling to ask if they should keep her on life support or end her pain.

That was the first time I ever saw my brothers cry, torturing themselves with should they let her go quickly or do they get to say goodbye to their puppy. They decided to not keep her on life support. The next morning, we went back to the animal hospital and picked up her body so we could bury it. On the drive back, all of us were absolutely silent, just listening to the radio. Then "The A Team" began to play. Why no one raised a finger to change the station, I will never know. But I'll never forget how much the lyric "It's too cold outside for angels to fly" pierced my heart. I couldn't imagine a crueler song to be played at that moment.

Now anytime I hear the song, I can't help but think back to that night, to where my brothers were so heartbroken. That said, I do actually enjoy the song, on a morbid level. Kinda of keeps me from ever forgetting about Abby.

And I'm sorry if it hurt anyone to read this. I cried a little typing it out.

Whenever I listen to certain Tim McGraw songs, it makes me think of my dad :( I don't listen to country but he's the only one I can tolerate. My dad kinda looked like him and he would always sing his songs to me.

I'd do anything just to see him smile :selena: but anyway, I listen to these songs if I miss him:
"Please Remember Me," "She's My Kind of Rain," and "Just to See You Smile"

"Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac makes me cry too. My mom played it at work once (she's a bartender) and I had to walk away because I was tearing up and we were having a good time playing pool and I couldn't stand the thought of losing her.

"Tidal Wave" by The Killers

the bridge part of Joanne. When Gaga sang that at my show, I hugged myself and cried because I was thinking about my dad and my aunt (who I lost a week before my show).

And when you say my name, like white horses on the waves, I think it feels the same, as an ocean in my veins.
